I left Atlanta ID Group after a year a half for several reasons. They really only want to treat passive patients with great insurance. My doctor there, Lopez, routinely made inappropriate remarks about my insurance coverage during my appointments. Who needs that? The practice also employs two Physicians Assistants, both of whom are always in a hurry and not particularly knowledgeable. In fact, they MAKE you see the PAs, but if you have questions, they get exasperated quickly or put you off with comments like, 'you'll have to ask the doctor the next time you see him/her."" It got to the point where I dreaded going to Atlanta ID group - I couldn't stomach the indifference of the staff and I hated paying a minimum of $4 to park every time. Worse, their billing/accounting department is terrible. For anything not covered by insurance, they wait months to bill you and then claim you're past due. Even when you arrive at an appointment, they will inform you at the receptionist's desk that you have an outstanding balance and ask you to pay right there. As a responsible person, I resent being treated as though I don't pay bills on time. And they've even called my at home twice to tell me I have a balance due when they failed to bill me in the first place. If you're living with any kind of chronic condition that requires an infectious disease specialist, this practice will probably leave you frustrated.
