The people at the service department are nice. The work was completed. Beyond that though my recent service visit was not a good one.
I brought the vehicle in for what amounted to a bad high pressure fuel pump. My vehicle is under warranty, only 3 years old with 31k miles. It took over 2 weeks for the part to be shipped/received by the service department, a part that could be easily found on 3rd party Hyundai parts dealer websites. I never received a status on the part shipping or repair during that period unless I called and asked for it, and I would wait a few of days between calls. I dropped my car off first thing on a Saturday, didn't find out about the part not being in stock until I called at the end of the day. Service department is closed on Sunday; I only received a loaner car at the end of the day Monday, after I insisted I needed one. Other customers that Monday were being told loaner vehicles weren't available for 4 weeks. I'm glad I insisted on needing one because of the 2 weeks it took to get my car repaired.
After the repairs were complete I got in my car to find the internal computer must have been reset as my clock was hours off and my sound and display settings were reset.
The car itself was in the same condition cleanliness wise as when I dropped it off. Normally that wouldn't be a bad thing, but when I bought the car and the maintenance care package with it one of their selling points was that they always run the car through a car wash and vacuum the interior before hand over, it's been a while since I've seen that extra touch of service that was promised.
In the end the people are nice enough, but their communication was severely lacking when it came to the length of time it was going to take. If it takes that long to get a part in, fine, but tell me that. If it takes longer than that, I can understand, but tell me that. Don't make me come to you to ask the status on my vehicle, that's not service.
