'MIKE' THE OWNER; IS UNFRIENDLY, RUDE AND THREATENING TOWARDS CUSTOMERS. \r
Today he ejected me from the store after interpreting my minor issue as a personal insult and then going 'loonie' over it.. I regularly buy feeder rats for our snake. Two feeder rats had died a few hours after I purchased them at his store. One died in our snake cage. The other one was still in its store packaging. My wife and I went back to the store to buy another rat and alert the owner of the issue for his benefit. I didn't bring the dead rats. I was not expecting anything. This had never happenned before, and I had accepted it as a one time occurrence. Mike overheard me tell my wife to only buy one instead of two more rats in case it died again. That's when Mike abruptly intervened without any introduction. In an mean spirited tone, he said his rats are laboratory bred and never have any problems. The deaths had to be caused by the home environment and not his store. I was taken aback by his abruptness and his attitude towards me. Remember, my comment was to my wife, not him. So, I responded by giving him a brief account of the incident. He interrupted me with the 'home environment' excuse again. Annoyed and in defense, I told him his whole assumption was wrong. That's when mike pointed to the door and told us to 'get out' for insulting him. He refused to let me attempt to explain in a civil tone the miscommunication. He wouldnt let me speak a word without repeatedly saying 'get out'. I was embarrassed as I left the store. I believe this man may have a personality disorder. \r
If you don't like being belittled and embarrassed in front of your family and other customers, don't shop at Aqua Tropics pet store. I have supported Aqua Tropics for many years because I prefer the small business over the big box stores. However, Petsmart and Petco are my only option now. But at least they are friendly and courteous. \r
