Worth every penny 5/12/2011

Been boarding here a few months, and I am so impressed. After coming from a poorly run facility, it is nice to be around people who not only have YEARS of professional experience with horses, but treat each and every horse boarding there as if they were their own. Mary Ellen as well as ALL of her staff are so happy to help and share all of their knowledge with someone who is green in the horse world such as myself, without any hesitation. My horses are the happiest and healthiest they have been since I have owned them. The feed and hay is abundant as well as outstanding quality. The only downfall I can see is if you are someone who doesn't like to follow rules in order to keep yourself and others safe as well as the horses, this isn't the place for you. Mary Ellen runs a tight ship, but it is a pleasant and safe environment for me and my children to ride. Did I mention it was so clean, the flies don't hang out there,,,:) more

Good maintained facility 9/25/2008

My boarding experience at Anvil Acres has been an overall positive one. Both barns are always maintained, pastors are always mowed, decent selection of jumps for lessons. The barn owner Mary Ellen is very knowledgeable in and around horses. She can always give out good advice, despite her ""hard exterior"" towards younger children. The people for the most part are good, despite the usual barn gossip that you would find in any barn. Patty the hunter jumper/jumper trainer is really experienced, as she is a judge in A shows. Lessons are great with Patty jumping 2'3- 2-6'', the only downfall is many people currently are not doing the more advanced (3 foot and up) jumping. Anvil does have a front ring, dressage ring, as well as ""jumping field"" to take lessons and ride in. The only down fall is that the front ring and dressage ring, between rain gets rather on the deep side. I would recommended Anvil Acres as a boarding facility for your horse, as well as lessons; as it is nicer than most local barns you would find in Pinellas Park. Pros: Good maintained facility Cons: ....Pricey more
