All I have to say is positive! 7/26/2010

I went there last week to get waxed for the first time. I got full legs and underarms. Jessica was lovely. She is very professional, even when I am so nervous to have someone else see me so hairy! It took about an hour and a half, and it was very relaxing. She is so easy to talk to, that you don't even notice what is going on. She has 7 years of experience in waxing, and it showed! I'm going back next week for a Brazilian with her. It feels so nice to pamper myself and be smooth for weeks! Everyone there was so polite. Can't wait to go back! Pros: clean, professional, courteous, friendly, knowledgeaable Cons: none that I can think of more

The salon was NOT clean, nor very professional. Not only was I not impressed by the atmosphere but the service was poor as well. The female that highlighted my hair was far from being professional. Cons: they dont listen! more

Do not go there!!!!! 3/29/2010

I went to this hair studio and before I sat down showed the stylist a picture of how my hair used to be. They said no problem and assured me that they could do it. During the entire 2 hours they were working on my hair I continued to ask if it was going to be colored and cut they way I asked and again they assured me it would be. When they were done the color of my was not even close to what I asked. I asked for it to be straight and they styled it in waves. Then when I got to the counter to pay the priced was $100 dollars more than quoted on their website. I used to get my hair done in NYC and it was never that expensive and it was actually done the way I wanted. Waste of money and a waste of time. If you have your own opinion on how you want your hair to look, dont go there. Cons: stlists dont listen to what you want more

I've been there twice; once to get my hair cut and then to get my hair highlighted. The girl who cut my hair was very nice--did the style i wanted, etc. I asked her to take as much needed off to get the dead ends off--I looked at my hair a couple days later and there was clearly split ends; my hair is not particularly damaged either. When I got my hair highlighted one of the stylists plopped me in a chair-- didn't really speak to me, did my highlights in about 15 min and left me sitting there to work on other clients without explaining to me what she was doing..her service was HORRIBLE. Nice salon but 100% NOT worth the extraordinary prices they charge. more

GREAT PLACE FOR GIRLS WITH CURLS 2/24/2010

I LOVE THIS SALON! most of the girls are very friendly and i will be going back. I had the Ouidad done there and i have never in my life found someone who knew how to cut my hair like this girl did. I think her name was Kristine, she had the same hair as i did so i felt at ease right away! She knew what she was talking about when i told her my problems, also her product knowledge was amazing!. She was right on key! I WILL TELL ALL MY CURLY FRIENDS! more

Great Stylists 11/24/2009

I have baby-fine hair, and for the first time ever, my hair actually works! It lays nicely and has body, it doesn't just hang there all scraggly like fine hair often does. They are a very large salon and provide spa services as well. They have stylists of all levels, so the price of services can vary greatly from one stylist to the next. Not sure if I can use names here, but I see the stylist that has been with Ania the longest and she is fantastic. One of her clients told me she drives from Buffalo (6 hours away) to have her hair cut! more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND 11/10/2009

My daughter in law made appointments for herself, the entire bridal party and the moms. We were their for over 4 hours, they said we had appointments but it was VERY unorganized. The Hair was ok but everyone was very unhappy with their make-up but the most UPSETTING was one of the employees made the BRIDE cry on her wedding day (If you can even believe that) yes she make her cry!!!!!!!!!!!! Her reason was she came late----so you yell at a bride on her wedding day to the point of making her cry??? We were so disappointed with our experience at Ania's that it will NEVER be recommended by any of us. Very unprofessional! Cons: READ BELOW more

I went to Ania a couple of years ago and was there nearly four hours for a cut and color. The stylist, I think her name was Rachel, had other clients she was taking care of at the same time and it was just so unbeliveably unprofessional. I would sit waiting for nearly an hour before I would see her again. When I went to check out I couldnt' believe that it was nearly $300. Needless to say I did not leave a tip and have not returned. A different time when I had gone for waxing, the girl had to keep apologizing because it was one of her first times waxing.....don't go here! more

So happy with my hair now! 7/7/2009

The employees were friendly, but not in your face. My stylist did an AMAZING job, fixing ALL of my hair concerns. Personally, for the service and quality I got, $37 was not too bad. I'm already saving up some money to go get some highlights done (as at Ania's, just like most places, color jobs ARE expensive) I especially loved that after my hair was washed/cond. it was cut, blown out, AND then she went back and cut my hair while it was dry to ensure everything flowed well and looked great : ) more

Great Salon.... 11/9/2008

Ania's is a great place to go. I'm always happy with my results, and love the time I spend there. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is one of a kind. It never feels stuffy or snooty in there. It feels more like the ""Cheers"" of Salons, as they make an effort to remember their clients. If you are looking for a place that will make you feel welcome and give you GREAT hair results, then this is it! Some of the other reviews complaining about their price seem out of touch--you pay for what you get, and they are not some hole-in-the-mall salon. Definately worth the visit and money! Pros: Friendly staff, warm atmosphere Cons: Always happy! more

I recently went to Ania's and was a model for one of her open houses. It was a great experience. Pros: Great service. They don't rush you out. They spend a lot of time with you and get everything exactly how you want it. Cons: ..No cons. more

Rip Off 5/3/2008

I unfortunately walked into this place for the first time not knowing their prices. After a chop-job that took 10 minutes and left my hair mangled and cut way shorter than I told her to cut it, I was told it would cost me $32! I've gotten much better haircuts for $8. I guess they charge a lot to try and seem like a real hip salon, but the quality of the actual cuts doesn't reflect this at all. Stay away. Cons: price, value, service more

I get my hair cut & colored and I also get my hair straightened twice a year. My hair always looks great. They do the best job. All of the girls are so friendly. I've been to all the nice salons around and Ania Hair Studio the best. more

Don't get your hair coloered here! 11/20/2007

It all started when I first called the salon for an appointment and the lady was very rude! She had a thick accent and I couldn't understand her. I was put on hold twice ! I wanted to make an appointment with my stylist Kerri which I have been going to for a year and a half. I show up for my appointment which was at 2pm and someone finally got to me at 2:20! The lady said Hi, I'm Kerri and I will be coloring your hair today. It was not the kerri I usually go to. The stylist said that she no longer works here and I will be doing your hair from now on! Which was rude! I had no other choice because I was going away so I let her color my hair. 1st my hair did not come out close how I wanted it! I paid way tomuch for something I could have got done at a beauty school and I am completly fustrated!!! I highly do not reccommened this salon! Pros: Moe's is three doors down Cons: I got way overcharged, bad service more

Don't bother looking anywhere else 11/18/2007

I just moved to the Albany area and went to some random place for a haircut -- BIG mistake. I had a girl named Candy who butchered my hair. I checked the internet the next day in an attempt to find a reputable place and came across Ania. I called and got an appt. for later that afternoon. The interior is modern, spacious and clean, and the girls at the desk are very friendly and professional. I explained to my stylist what had happened to my hair, she understood completely, and fixed it -- not just fixed it, but gave me possibly the best haircut I've ever had. I'm a guy and it was $30 for my haircut (took about 35 minutes), but will be $35 in the future since I will be requesting a specific stylist. Easily worth it. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else... very highly recommended. more
