My overall exprience with American Home Design was excellent. The sales personel were knowledgable. They understood what I wanted and helped me to pick out what was best for my home. The installers were both fast as well as friendly. I would definately recommend them to anyone who is looking at upgrading and adding on to their home. more

Very Satisfied with AHD 9/12/2011

I am very satisfied with American Home Design. They are not the least expensive for replacement windows and sliding glass doors, but having been a home owner for 30 years, I can attest that the least expensive is not always the most cost effective in the long run. AHD offers superior quality products that they stand behind for a lifetime. I am more than willing to pay a little more for that. more

Great Experience with American Home Design 9/12/2011

We are so pleased with our experience with American Home Design. We were surprised by the price, but felt the product and service were worth it. Our salesman, Chip was very helpful and easy to talk with. No pressure! The men that installed our new shower walls did a great job. There was no mess left behind. I would highly recommend AHD. more

American Home Design has some beautiful products. They are made very well. The construction is great. They are a little pricey but you are going to pay for what you get. All in all we are very satisfied and plan to go back to them for more windows in the future. more

We were very satisfied with the bathroom shower they completed for us. We were very satisfied with the installer and he was very efficient, very straight forward, told us what he was doing, showed us what he was doing, and explained to us what he was doing. We ran into a slight problem but he provided an excellent solution and walked us thru the process. Any questions we asked him he was upfront about answering. He was extremely neat and clean. Everything was cleaned up everyday before he left the work site. I have had renovations done before but this was one of the best. more

Awesome Bath Wrap 8/29/2011

I've had a lot of renovations done to my home in the eight plus years I've owned it, but American Home Design stands out as the most thorough, professional and enjoyable company I've worked with. They transformed my nasty pit of a bathroom to a beautiful bathroom in less than two days, and the products they used are top-notch. I used to be ashamed of my bathroom but now I show it off to everyone that comes in my house! I love having a window I can actually open and close, and look forward to my shower every morning. The materials used in the bath wrap are so easy to care for. Everyone I've dealt with at American Home Design has been courteous and helpful. They made my renovation a delightful experience. more

Great Value and Quality 8/24/2011

My grandmother purchased a tub to shower conversion as she could not get in and out of her bathtub safely. American Home Design was very informative and very courteous. They installed her shower in a timely fashion and left her bathroom looking better than when they first arrived. It gives our family peace of mind knowing that she is safer when bathing. She got a great value for the quality of work that was done. more

BEWARE!! 10/13/2010

I invited American Home Design out to provide a quote for improving the insulation in my attic. WHAT A MISTAKE! Their "salesman" came out and spent about 1 1/2 hours trying to sell us with a new product from eShield. The salesman did a very inaccurate measurement of our attic upon which he provided the price so I believe it was only for show. The price came in over $11,000 for a house with less than 33,000 sq feet. This is more that double than closed cell foam (which is a recognized superior insulator) and more than 10-times the cost of simply adding additional fiberglass. The "salesman" then expected that we would sign a contract immediately and when we objected, he refused to leave any quotation/contract or anything else. He then abruptly got up, made some rude comments, and left. We were left to beleve that this was a scam and that this company is unreliable. We will NEVER contact them again as there are many, many respectable companies in the Nashville area. more

American Home Design service--BEWARE! 7/23/2010

We bought windows from this company a short time ago (last year). The windows came with a lifetime warranty. One of them developed a crack. We were told that our warranty covered replacement. We reported this crack in April. We were told that the replacement would have to be ordered specially. Later we were told that the replacement had arrived. All of our interactions with them have been at our initiative (phone calls from us), not theirs. It is now Saturday morning in late July and the replacement still hasn't been installed. Their website says they are open Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I just called again and was told by a pleasant person that service was not open on weekends and that our call would be returned first thing Monday morning. I can only hope.... Pros: The windows are pretty Cons: Replacement service is terrible! more

Shower installation 6/6/2010

I have been working with American Home Design on my shower for almost a year! First they came out, took measurements and gave me a timeline. Well the timeline didn't include the extra month to create the shower door. Installed the shower surround that leaked. Once my husband fixed it and another time they came out and caulked the crap out of it. Three months later the shower door leaked. We called and never received a call back. Finally, after a nasty, yet professional email we had a worker come out and said in 5 minutes, "I know what's wrong". An appointment is set for a MONTH later. Here I sit, no reminder call from them and of course.....they're late! Never again, American Home Design!! Pros: looks nice Cons: leaks, leaks and more leaks more

Sunday is a BAD DAY TO GO!!! 4/24/2010

I drove over an hour to go to this store. I came in with my measurements. I just wanted a ballpark price,. just an idea what it would cost for a basic screened in porch.I even pointed to a picture they had posted on the wall. I got the run around, the guy said he isnt a salesman doesnt know what anything cost. I thought why not say that on their site instead of saying they were open on Sunday. Why would I drive over an hour to find out I was talking to a person that didnt know anything. Couldnt even tell me if they are 10.000 or a 100.000 dollars. Just wanted an idea. Dont waste your time, you will just leave aggravated. The problem with the economy is, businesses no longer want to wait on your, dont need your money and dont care. Cons: They dont even have a salesman there to help you more

Don't trust this company 4/4/2010

Notice this company has 3 or 4 five star posts within a few days after getting an honest bad review. There is one reason for this and that is American Home Designs is posting their own good review. This is proof these people lack integrity. Of course this in my opinion only. I made the mistake of letting these people into my house… never again. I found other reliable, quality services and products with other companies for less money. Although American Home Design is not the most expensive company I talked to and price was not my issue with them, they were a whole lot higher in price than other reliable companies. You will find there sales people will try to push you into buying from them. They will try to make you feel stupid for not excepting their “great deal.” Also as far as I’m concerned they lied about their competitors. Equal or better products with just as good lifetime warranties can be found from their competitors for a whole lot less. Don’t waste your time with this company. Pros: none Cons: lack of integrity, high price, pushy, untruthful. more

We looked at 3 different window companies and decided to go with American Home Design.They had done work for several families at our church and they could not be more complimentary on their workmanship and products.
