Al's Cycle Shop

I've been taking my bike to al's for over a year now and I couldn't be more satisfied. They are knowledgable, efficient, professional, and friendly. Since I have started to use Al's cycle shop my bike has never sounded or ran better.They always explain in detail any work done to or needed on my bike and their prices are very fair. I ride my 750 suzuki daily to get to and from work, and I must have no problems with anything. The atmosphere is like old friends you have known your entire life, with the coolest shop dog around. There is not enough good things to say about Al's, It's the perfect place for my motorcycle needs. I just wish they worked on cars too...then I would never need another shop for anything. I could go on and on, but if you've never been there, then go check it out for yourself. more

MOST OF THE REVIEWS HERE ARE SHILLS, CHECK OUT 'YELP' FOR ACCURATE INFO: I wanted to like these guys. I really did. I wanted to take my motorcycle to a local shop since I moved east, but whatever's going on at Al's, it's not motorcycle maintenance and it's certainly not zen. Mike, the ""good cop"" mechanic, will tell you whatever you want to hear, while Al plays the ""bad cop"" after they've screwed up your bike, and swears ""you never said"" for them to do the work WRITTEN ON THE WORK ORDER! ""It may say that, but that wasn't our understanding."" -- A direct quote. My bike sat out in the rain after they failed to reassemble it with ALL the parts... oops. Only after a disputed credit card charge pulled their payment, did they come around and call me 8 weeks later, saying ""Hey, what's up?... Yeah, I know, we got kinda busy with other bikes..."" My original mechanic--who later had to realign my cams and redo my timing-- asked me where the circus was?.. He pointed out only clowns use case glue to button up a bike; it's the lazy-ass way for mechanics without any real skills. Al's does NOT do it right. Do your bike and yourself right and avoid these folks. ""Expertise, ""customer service"" and ""honesty"" isn't in their wheelhouse. Hell, it's not in their vocabulary. more

I love Al's Cycle Shop. I have a 250 scooter and when I took my scooter to this shop, I was told how much a tune=up will cost, how long the repair would take and the sweetner, the shop offers loaner bikes, so I could take care of weekend business. For the times when a loaner bike isn't available, then there is a television to watch and eateries around the shop. The guys are professional and honest. Their have been times when I stopped by the shop for some minor repair just before the shop closes and the team takes my bike in right away. Some repairs are so inexpensive, that sometimes the purchase of food and drink goes a long way. Al's Cycle Shop also offers a tow service! I haven't been to any other cycle shop in Los Angeles, but there isn't a need for to me do so, because I enjoy Al's Cycle Shop and this shop takes care of all of my needs. What can i say, Al's is an Awesome shop! Ive been coming in for about five months now for random repairs on my 91' FZR 600. Very knowledgeable, Cool, down to earth guys. Even if they are packed, they try their best to help you out if your in a hurry. Overall, If you want a cycle shop thats Very reasonably priced, and provides great service, ride down to Al's. more

thanks for making that shop a great place to bring my bike !!.. Over here in Redondo there is only a few places and all are either really expensive or total jerks.. Your guys take really good care of the bikes they work on and have alot of pride in doing a great job. I am a happy customer and will gladly bring my bike there whenever it needs service or parts. I got to give these guys 5 stars!! Not only did they help me with my budget for new tires but they gave my bike a complete overlook to make sure it was safe. I have had several bikes in the past and have been more of a rider than a mechanic but Mike, Al (the owner) and Steven each pitched in to explain exactly what I needed and what to look for as far as problems. The shop was clean and comfortable. Moreover, they were down to earth and diligent as well as professional. I'm stoked that its around the corner from my house. These cats know their stuff!! more

Al is a gem and the rest of the mechanics and girls at the counter are top notch. Take your bikes here! Need a tow? No sweat, just call Al. Bruce will come pick you up in a jiffy. All in the shop really are kind, friendly and knowledgable about any type of bike. The shop has extremly resonable and competitive prices and are flexible and resourceful with parts and service. On site they have bikes for sale; used and rebuilt and can help you with anything even new riders. Mike is my man for my 1980 Honda C-70 Passport. Recently I needed a new rear wheel for the 30 year old scoot and the girls behind the counter searched for 3 weeks until it was found in Thailand - I love them now forever! Thanks ladies and Mike!! Panorama City, CA 5/12/2010 I'm a new HD owner and I took my bike into AL's for an oil change and inspection. I have seen the cycle shop on Glendale Ave since i was a kid and figured it would be a great place to take the HD to since the shop has been there fo so long. When i arrived i was told that the location was under new management and that's when i met Al and his crew. I've never been to a cycle mechanic shop of any kind but to plenty of auto ones. I was greeted with a laid back and very family oriented atmosphere. These guys have a style all of their own and i liked it! Like a typical mechanic shop you had your share of loud music, in this case rock and classic rock, and trash talking between the mechanics. What was very astounding was the fact that these mechanics were fast, detailed, and extremely knowledgeable and honest. My mechanic was Mike and he was very knowledgeable about my HD, I asked him about the maintenance schedule and possible problems to look out for and he was very upfront and gave me direct and clear answers to all my newbie rider questions. I asked him if i could watch him service the HD, he agreed and during the inspection and oil change he gave me a run down on everything that he was doing to the bike and possible problems to look out for and the such, all while doing his job. Mike was great! All in all i think i was in and out of the shop in less than 45 minutes. Al and his crew must have serviced about 6 bikes while i was there, yes there was a line. Just in and out, in and out. With so many people coming to see these guys it's no wonder they are doing so well. With a great attitude and a quick turn around time I am hoping that Al is here to stay. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Mike, the mechanic, took the HD on a spin and caught a few glitches, if you will, and made the proper adjustments to my clutch lever and other things. Mike said it would help me get into neutral better and man was he right!! Thx Mike!! The HD is feeling solid and smooth and the shifting into neutral is a hell of alot smoother and easier now. I will definitely be returning to Al's for more maintenance and other services. Thx Al and thanks to your crew for taking care of me. P.S. I own a 2009 Harley Davidson Fat Bob FXDF.Mileage at the time of service 3500 miles. Reason i didn't go to the dealer was cuz there was a 2 week waiting period for me to get on their schedule for service. more
