I personally like a doctor who will tell me what's best for my health, not just what we would all like to hear (you look fabulous, your weight is just fine, etc.).Isn't that what we go to the doctor for in the first place? He stepped into a practice where the OB/GYN had just stopped delivering babies (the previous doctor delivered my first child), and dealing with my secondary fertility problems, along with a never-ending list of weird symptoms, he treated me very kindly, answered all my calls, and fielded all my questions up until the birth of my second child. She's now 21-years-old, and I've been going to Dr. Juncosa ever since. He tells it like it is, and I've always appreciated that. I don't wait hours on end to see him, and the whole process is very quick...but don't mistake that for not caring, because he will sit with you and answer any questions you might have, and address all concerns very patiently, thoroughly, and and with due care. His staff is also very efficient, and promptly return phone calls or have Dr. Juncosa return calls concerning test results and such. I love Dr. Juncosa - he's matter-of-fact, to the point, but also very gentle and caring, and I can only hope his practice outlasts my need for his work. more

I really like Dr. Juncosa, too, but agree that he can probably easily insult some people with his approach. There's a reason for this, though. Did you all know that he was quite heavy at one time in his life and that he made a decision to get heathly and stay healthy? While he may seem like a naturally thin person, he is not. He works hard to stay fit and I admire him for that, even if he is a preacher about it, now. more

I like Dr. Juncosa's honesty. I am overweight and my own primary has yet to mention it to me... Dr. Juncosa has never been mean or rude. Each time I go for a visit he shows me on paper my yearly weight gain. This is not news.. I appreciate his thoughts even though it does bother me. He is a DOCTOR after all and his concern is my well being. Pros: To the point, Tells it how it is! Cons: To the point! Tells it how it is! more

I also went to Dr. Juncosa after being unhappy with my previous GYN. I am, like the previous patient, also extremely overweight. During my visit to his office, Dr. Juncosa professionally and nicely explained at length to me the possible complications of my obesity. At no time was he rude or disrespectful at all. He mentioned the weight struggles of many of his own relatives. In fact, I found him to be more reassuring, pleasant, and interested in my health that any other provider. His office is extremely welcoming, cozy, and patient friendly. His staff is superb. My waiting time at the office is usually less than 45 mins, compared to up to three hours at other GYN offices. Many times overweight people take ANY comments about their weights the wrong way, but I felt compelled to write about Dr. Juncosa's special interest in his patients after reading the previous comment. I will strongly recommend Dr. Juncosa and his staff to all my friends. He is a gem as his loyal patients well know. I went to Juncosa for years because it was easier than switching....I was comfortable with him physically but what a mouth on him! He made some rude crude remarks that I overlooked because I assumed that he was trying to amuse me during an uncomfortable exam but he insulted me twice regarding my age and weight so I will take my business elsewhere.
