ABRT Colorado Springs...We LOVE IT! 5/8/2012

We just started Puppy Elementary two weeks ago...all I can say is WOW! Our puppy is strong-willed, smart and well, just a puppy and today he sits, lays flat and comes on command and well is just generally better to be around and this is after one puppy class. The school is organized and well managed. They truly love the pups and the pups parents and are teaching us how to have a well-mannered, loving and safe pup! Give this place a chance, you will not regret it! more

ABRT is the best!! 5/2/2012

These folks are really wonderful, and they truly love all our pups. We (and by we I mean me AND my puppy) loved going to puppy school, and can't wait for the next class to start. They do a great job. more

Lauren Fox is an excellent positive reinforcement trainer. They truly believe in relationship based training! more

Humane and Caring people 4/30/2012

My dog went though their puppy k training and graduated. I find it a bit difficult to accept that they would tell someone to feed a dog meat, because trainers are generally aware of the terrible risks involved doing this. Anyplace with dogs is going to have odors, afterall we're talking dogs here! Let us be reasonable! If you have a problem do something. Talk to the people who are operating the program, or go to the Humane Society. I have always found L. Fox to be very reasonable and caring about the dogs, and a professional individual. more

The best training place in Colorado Springs 4/30/2012

I cannot say enough good things about All Breed Rescue & Training. We took our 4-year-old English bulldog to All Breed after he bit our 9-month-old daughter. From the moment we arrived for his evaluation, we felt like we were part of the ABR family. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Their love and appreciation for animals is infectious. After an hour-long evaluation, they recommended that we get our dog into a basic training class to redefine our pack relationship and take two private counseling sessions as well to learn how to adjust our behaviors at home. These two approaches to improve his behavior were perfect. The counselors were so helpful -- they even let me bring my daughter to the sessions when I couldn't get a sitter. The information they provided us with was practical and specific. We also enrolled our dog in the Foundation Course. The prices for the class were extremely reasonable. The class itself was well-organized. Each week we focused on a different skill, while adding on to skills we'd learned the week before. We had plenty of chances to practice during class, and we were given helpful handouts to practice our homework during the week. We saw a huge change in our dog's behavior over the course of the class. We had a great time with the instructors and the other dog owners as well. If you are looking for a place to treat you fairly and treat your dog with compassion, ABR is the place. I cannot thank them enough for the time and energy they put into teaching us how to improve our dog's quality of life. They really are in this for the right reasons. . more

Dog adoption 1/18/2011

I adopted an animal from this facility and found the facility to be a generally foul place. The workers complained to one another, in my presence, that the "training room" was not properly cleaned (urine stains on the floor). The occasionally dog accident is to be expected, but the unclean animal smell of this facility emanates into the parking lot. The animal I adopted was fed a raw meat diet, which was drummed-up from the staff at All Breed as being particular healthy, but my dog was underweight, excessively constipated, and dehydrated when I took her home. The diet was apparently unbalanced and too high in protein. It took more than a week to normalize the dog's nutrition and gastrointestinal health. The training approach I was required to fulfill at ABRT I have found to be lacking in logic (suggesting I hand feed an 80-lb dog for 6 months for "bonding" and such) and evidence. I have fulfilled what I was required by the adoption commitment, but I am taking the dog for "real" training by a trainer with definite knowledge and experience with dogs. more
