Dog adoption 1/18/2011

I adopted an animal from this facility and found the facility to be a generally foul place. The workers complained to one another, in my presence, that the "training room" was not properly cleaned (urine stains on the floor). The occasionally dog accident is to be expected, but the unclean animal smell of this facility emanates into the parking lot. The animal I adopted was fed a raw meat diet, which was drummed-up from the staff at All Breed as being particular healthy, but my dog was underweight, excessively constipated, and dehydrated when I took her home. The diet was apparently unbalanced and too high in protein. It took more than a week to normalize the dog's nutrition and gastrointestinal health. The training approach I was required to fulfill at ABRT I have found to be lacking in logic (suggesting I hand feed an 80-lb dog for 6 months for "bonding" and such) and evidence. I have fulfilled what I was required by the adoption commitment, but I am taking the dog for "real" training by a trainer with definite knowledge and experience with dogs. more
