Kinda sad...Spent a long time getting an uneven cut. Many new stylists...mine was nervous not confident...I left dissappointed.... didn't do what I wanted :( spent $45.00

I would recommend Alex and Emilo salon to anyone. Jenny really knows what she is doing. She is smart, nice, beautiful and overall a good hair stylist. Anyone who thinks that Jenny messed up there hair or thinks Jenny is a bad hair stylist needs to put down the pipe and really look at yourself. Maybe it is you who is ugly... The Only Salon I'll Ever Go To 3/13/2007

I just wanted to let everyone know that this salon has saved my from all of my bad haircuts. I've been going to Lyndsey for 2 years now and I'm more than satisfied when I leave. I've also started having my eyebrows arched by Aubrey and April and they do magic on them. Everyone there is just so kind and I always feel welcome when I go in for my services. I always recommened the salon and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. more

I am from Chicago and cannot find a good salon for the life of me! (dont ask why) I usually end up waiting to get a haircut when I visit my friends in New York. Pros: Alex is sooo cute! more

Jenny F-Changed my life..... 1/1/2007

Jenny F really changed my life after giving me hair extensions. I've always had thin hair and it made me really self conscious about leaving my hair down. She taught me how to work with the extensions. Now I have more confidence!!! Who would have thought having more hair would make guys do double takes. It looks so natural and real. Jenny I love you!!! Thank you for everything. more

TRULY FABULOUS-JENNY F!!! 8/8/2006

I've been searching online for a new hair salon and despite the review on Jenny F (not too great) I decided to take my chance, because of all her other raving reviews. Since visiting Jenny F. last week- I have gotten more compliments on my hair than in the last year combined! I must get 2 or 3 a day! My color is perfect and my cut is amazing-- she did EXACTLY what I asked for and spent the time to listen and made sure I walked out feeling FABULOUS. I love my hair. Thank you! Not too great. 7/20/2006

I went to Jenny F for a haircut. It seemed ok when I left the salon. The next day when I tried to style it my self, it would not lay properly. I am really good at doing my own hair, so when I couldn't get it to do what it was supose to be cut to do, I was frustrated. I noticed a few spots where it is uneven, and my bangs are also uneven. I don't know what happened but, I am upset with the way my hair turned out and wish I would have gone some place else. more

I would follow Jeni F anywhere if she ever left this salon, but I hope that she won't because I love the salon also. From when you walk in the door until you walk back out everyone is fun, helpful and happy to help you. Jeni F is amazingly good. She has the best personality and my hair has never looked better. Watching her patience while training an assistance was great. I even learned a little about what it is that she does to make my hair great. I started visiting this salon because of the reviews on Citysearch, and they were dead on. This is the best salon in the metro-detroit area!!! Pros: Friendly, prompt, fair prices more

Lyndsey does a beautiful color (I'm a blonde) and she gives awesome, out of this world cuts. I am highly impressed with her work and have never had anyone do my hair this good. If you want precision, ask for Tracy! 4/24/2006

I've been seeing Tracy for almost 10 years now. There is no better in the field for haircuts! He also is a magician with color: highlights, lowlights, all-over, glazes, toner, you name it! He truly takes his time and is an artist. For anyone who has thick hair, like I do, he is a must stylist for taking the bulk out of your hair. He has a ton of experience and his knowledge is top notch! He strives to make his clients happy. I get compliments on my hair all of the time and it's all thanks to Tracy! While you are there, see Sophia and treat yourself to one of her manicures and/or pedicures. She gives a wonderful, relaxing pedicure and has a wide variety of polish colors to choose from! I'm definitely hooked and will be seeing her more this summer to keep my feet in shape! Pros: Super friendly staff, Upbeat environment, Expert stylists! more

Roman and Jenny F. are amazing! 4/12/2006

I have been going to Alex Emilios for over 2 years now and I would never go any place else. The service and treatment is great and Roman currently Highlights and cuts my hair. He does a remarkable job and I feel like a princess when I leave even though I am 6 months pregnant. Jenny F. is wonderful as well. She knows what colors to use to match your complexion and when seasons change she knows what to do. more

Peter M. is a Hair God! 3/21/2006

I had seen a less experienced stylist at this salon who gave me highlights that were chunky, yellow and came only halfway down my head - very unnatural looking! The next day a friendly receptionist set up an appointment with Peter to correct the color. He was charming and confident - I knew right away I could trust him with my hair! After adding lowlights and a toner, Peter decided he didn't really like the cut that the previous stylist had done and took it upon himself to clean up the cut until my hair was *perfect*! How's that for customer service! Peter M is a hair god who obviously enjoys his work. Do yourself a favor and book your next appointment with him. And because I'm having a good hair day and feeling generous I'll let you in on another secret - Aubrey gives the most perfect eyebrow arch! Pros: Customer Service, Talent, Relaxed Atmosphere more

A+E = life 3/11/2006

so basically i had been going to Alex and Emilios for two years, the best hair care ever. Ive been chemically straightened twice, been highlighted onces and temporarily died twice, and my hair is STILL amazing even after all that treatment. The hair styling is more than up to date, and you dont have to worry whether or not your going to get a hack job or not. oh, and just for the record, i moved to florida, got my hair cut today. and cried. for 3 hours straight. im now looking into 700 dollar hair extensions. more than anything, i wish Alex and Emilio's was down here (Jenny, save me!!) alright.. <3 allison Pros: style, atmosphere, prices Cons: its not in florida more

New York quality less the attitude and price 1/20/2006

Alex was trained at Antonino's in B'ham and opened his own salon a few years ago with color and styling expert, Emilio. I followed Alex since he was so talented and he has been styling and highlighting my hair for 7 years. I always receive compliments on it - thanks to him. His and Emilio's salon is a great blend of hip atmosphere minus the intimidating attidude, friendly service and superb styling. Pros: Expert hair styling, Service oriented, Great atmosphere more

Roman is the Best 1/20/2006

I started going to Alex Emilio Salon years ago, at the recommendation of a friend. Even though it is quite a drive from my home, it is very much worth the extra time. Roman is my stylist, and he highlights, lowlights, and cuts my hair. He is the most amazing stylist I have ever been to, and I always leave feeling fabulous. They are also one of the best values in the Royal Oak area, especially considering they are the BEST salon. I highly recommend this salon. more

Lyndsey = Movie Star Glam 1/3/2006

If Lyndsey Jakubik ever retires, I don't know what I'll do. Shes literally saved me from over-priced 90s haircuts so many salons are still offering. She is incredibly talented at coloring and cuts and I know I'll NEVER have to look in the mirror and see brassy streaks of blonde in my dark hair again! And I just love going to Alex Emilio--it has everything! Hot tea, bottled water, paraffin wax treatments, deep-conditioning, mani/pedis and a fabulous makeup artist. Not to mention I can even go shopping and eat great on Main St. afterwards! Now I always make sure theres somewhere for me to be seen at after Lyndsey does my hair--I leave the salon looking and feeling like a celebrity! Pros: Color & Cuts, Talent, Atmosphere more

Jenny F. iS One Of The bESt Hair StyliSt 10/10/2005

I've been going to Jenny F. FOr the Past 2 yrs. She changes my hair from a Brunette to blonde highlights in the spring/summer time, and from a blonde to brunette in the fall/winter she really knows how colors mesh with each other! If yOu need to know what color really fits you go to Jenny F. Also the atmosphere at this salon is wonderful everyone is always having a great time and always smiling.. I would highly recommend this salon! more

JENI F. wrong JENI but NOT disappointed 8/15/2005

I made an appt for Jeni A after reading reveiws here but when I got there, found I was with Jeni F. She has been there 2 years and is very nice. I asked her what she would like to do with my hair and I told her what I liked, then we did it. The color was EXCELLENT...very natural and the cut GREAT. I was not disappointed. I am going back for MORE! Even though I was not booked with the person I had originally asked for I certainly was not unhappy. Jeni F is very pleasant. I found her methodical and careful, sSomething I would expect from a first visit and someone young. Jeni is in her 20s. I am very impressed with the naturalness of the color. Jeni and Renato at Alex Emilio 5/12/2005

Jeni Ashcraft was incredibly helpful with not only figuring out how to correct what had been done to my hair by a previous stylist, but also offered creative ways to make my hair suitable for me. The color turned out better than what I had in mind and the cut is adorable. Her assistant, Renato gave me the BEST head massage/shampoo ever. I cant even explain it; it was close to bliss!
