Average Spa with Above Average Prices 3/9/2006

I've been to All About Faces twice - once for a french pedicure and a second time for highlights and haircut. Pros: Wide range of business hours - its open from morning till night (except Sunday) Friendly Staff Conveinent Location - right off of Timonium Rd Exit on 83 Offers all types of services - massages, hair, nails, facials Good availibility for appointments Cons: Expensive - $45 and up just for a haircut!! Interior - doesn't really have that ""soothing"" spa interior you would expect - bright lights and cheap decor Sales Pressure - they always seem to be trying to get you to buy something Pros: Friendly Staff, Big Range of Services, Good Location Cons: Expensive, Boring Interior, Sales Pressure more

Whether you prefer au naturel or injections this salon is for you 11/30/2005

At my age, I don't need to look my age. In addition to all the standard issue hair and nails services this salon not only has an on site Doctor with Botox, the Darphin cosmetics from Paris are fabulous- absolutely no chemicals. Having friends in skin care throughout my life, and having tried every "new & improved" product from La Praire to Chanel, finally going on 43 my skin has never looked better. They also offer the Obaji skin care line. Of course facials, massages, and custom shades mixed in Giella makeup all get 5 stars too. more

Wonderful Place in the World 11/16/2005

Every hair stylist I have tried has been more than excellent. They have done exactly what I had in mind and the results were fantastic. Every manicure and pedicure is nothing less than perfect and after leaving the day spa, you will feel better than ever. The massages feel like heaven and skin care services leave you glowing. I could spend hours here. The front desk is more than friendly and helpful and i always recieve exceptional service from them. When you call to make an appointment or even just ask a question they are more than happy to assit you in a friendly voice and they recognize who you are and it makes you feel special. about faces has been my salon for the last 22 years. i would never go any other place to have my hair cut and highlighted. my stylist there is the best and always achieves the look i want and ask for. what would I do without her??? please never retire. more

Relaxing Day at the Spa 11/12/2005

I went here for a 7 hour day at the spa and can't wait to go back! We were pampered and spoiled from the minute we walked in. The breakfast and lunch were great and there was wine available throughout the day! I highly recommend for an escape near the big city. more

Bridesmaid Hair Disaster x2 11/2/2005

My sister got married in May and she decided she wanted her hair and the bridesmaid hair done at About Faces Day Spa at the Kenilworth Shopping Center in Towson. I wanted my hair curled into ringlets and pulled back. The hairdresser did a fabulous job. The curls were perfect; tight, shiny, and controlled. But then the hairdresser took her fingers and combed through my hair creating a frizzy mess. My hair looked like i had gotten out of the shower and pulled it back and did nothing to it. This cost me $60. I didn't want to make a big deal when it was my sister's wedding day and there was no way there was time to redo it. My sister's sister-in-law also had a bad experience. She has thick and curly hair and asked to have it straightened and pulled back. The woman doing her hair acted extremely irritated that she had to straighten her hair and did a horrible job. My sister's sister-in-law paid $80 for straightening and the finished product was identical to what she could have done herself. more

Satisfactory, but rude. 11/1/2005

I went here to get my manicure and pedicure for my wedding. I had an appointment and was willing to pay more to get a really good treatment from a nice spa. Well, when I arrived for my appointment I was shuttled to a tiny little waiting place and they acted like I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. After waiting for about 30 minutes after my appointment and getting nowhere. I decided to leave and never go back. I was shocked at how expensive it is and how rude they were to me. I would never go back. more

I have come to About Faces day spa a few times, and I will not be going to another day spa. They have an extremely relaxing atmostphere and I have a wonderful time every time I come. The prices are reasonable and the staff is wonderful. more

Anniversary gift. 10/31/2005

My husband got this for me for my 5 year anniversary. I received the facial and the massage. The staff was great and they provided the greatest service available. They do a good job of pampering the customer by playing calming music, massaging the body and paying close attention to what the customer wants. The total cost was around eighty dollars but it was well worth the money. Great service and staff was very attentive. more

This spa has been around for years. They have expanded over the years and opened new locations, but still the same. The services were only fair, not great. The prices are extremely high in this competitive market. more

I love this place 9/29/2005

Locally it is one of the best places you can go. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. In the 5 years I've been going there I have had only one bad experience with a massage therapist who was way too chatty and then overplucked my eyebrows. But that happened a couple of years ago and I have not had a problem since. Whenever I go in for a massage and/or facial I always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The manicures last no less than a week (I am hard on my hands) and the pedicures usually grow out before the start to chip. My hairsylist is wonderful-I have never left feeling like I didn't like the color or cut and I receive many compliments. They do tend to be a little pricey but I always feel like I have spent the money well. Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, skilled staff, worth the money Cons: product push, pricey more

With all the wonderful day spas popping up all over the place, I would NOT recommend this one to anyone I know. The services received were no better than those offered from those el cheapo places in the malls. Save your money. more

Been going for years 9/24/2005

I've been going to About Faces for years. I love my hair stylist...I always come out with a great cut and color! However, over the past couple of years, I have noticed their selection of hair products has narrowed, and the pressure to buy the products has increased. My favorite hair sprays, shampoos, etc... are no longer available so I feel bad when my stylist writes down a list of things I should buy there, and I don't want to buy them (she literally gives me a written list of things to buy...I think this is something all the sylists there do). The products available now are so expensive so I buy my hair spray, shampoos, and wax elsewhere. I wish I could still do everything in one stop. I still love my hair! Luxurious and relaxing 8/27/2005

The About Faces Day Spa offers a full complement of services to relax and beautify. The atmosphere is one of its strongest points - everything is muted and calm and relaxing. If you get a package that includes a meal, you get to enjoy the comforts of the small dining area upstairs between services. The massage and facial I got there were out of this world, though the makeup application was very heavy-handed (I'd do a test run if I needed makeup for a special event). Prices are high, but this is a great place for a splurge! more

Stay Far Away!! 7/18/2005

I have never had worse service in a Spa in my life. I had to wait 25 min because my nail tech was running late, I told her specifically what I did and didn't want her to do, and she proceeded to do exactly the opposite! My $55 pedicure left me with bleeding cutlicles, dry legs and feet (no massage!), and sloppy nail polish. Don't go! It's a nightmare. more

Excellent staff! 7/7/2005

I have gone to About Faces in Timonium since they opened and I've always have a great experience, whether you want your hair styled for a big event, in my case my wedding (thank you Wilma) or whether you want a great massage, for me right now pregnancy massages are the best (thank you Susana), about faces has a great staff working for them always friendly and ready to do what ever they can, to help you relax and enjoy your treatments. They have the latest technologies and are always up to date with new techniques in massages, facials, etc. I love it! Pros: knowledgeable staff, great parking, excelletn services more

My Local Place 4/5/2005

This is the place I go for all of my services - waxing, hair and nails. It is hard to get a good nail person at this place, but once you do have her (like I do) you will always go to her. All of the hair people are excellent as are the dayspa staff. Also the hours are perfect -- 7 days a week. Pros: convenience, shampoo, all in one Cons: some prices more
