About Faces Day Spa & Salon

My husband and I just had out second son and he treated me to a day at the spa. I got a massage, and my hair and nails done. My hair and nails were wonderful, the ladies there did just what I wanted them to do. And the massage was amazing and very relaxing...just what I needed! Also the manager there I think her name was Jackie German, was so pleasant and helpful that not only b/c of her wonderful staff but b/c of her I WILL be going back again!!!! I went to About Faces for my hair and makeup for my most important day ever. I was more that pleased when I left. The stylist did more than I expected. She was very good with asking what I wanted and the end result was fabulous. I was afraid my makeup would be overdone but I ended up with natural but beautiful looking makeup. I definitely felt beautiful on my wedding day. Pros: Excellent service more

About Faces is a complete full service salon and I highly recommend it. I have been a regular client for over ten years and use the salon for routine services like waxes and haircuts, and occasionally indulge with a massage or facial. Prices are reasonable, staff is very experienced, and the products are top of the line. more

My stylist, Stephanie Shipley, is great! She is very professional, friendly and definitely takes pride in her work. She clearly looks back at my previous hair services and knows exactly what I want. I have used various people at About Faces in Towson for haircuts, mainucures, pedicures, and a great pregnancy massage and had great experiences. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I have been to about faces for massages, and spa treatments, and it has been wonderful. About faces is beautiful, but looks are deceiving. I cannot stress enough to find another salon. Yikes I went in to see Lisa, the senior colorist at about faces day spa in canton. She gave me the worst blotchy dye job ever. First of all she over shot the color completely, dying me bright circus red and she missed chunks all around my face. I had a panic attack in the chair, this woman should have her license taken away, or go back to beauty school. She has been doing hair 20 years but failed to apply color all over, or evenly. It cost $200 for the worst color I have ever had, I was too terrified to even let anyone at that place touch my hair again. I woke up everyday cursing her until I found a new stylist to strip all the color damaging my hair severely, but the color was too bright to get out without harsh chemicals. Stay away from this salon, and especially Lisa for color. more

I experienced a calming Swedish massage from a pleasant staff member who kept my needs in mind. The spa waiting area is dimmed & quiet, although a few more comfy chairs woukld be nice. The staff are knowledgable, personable. more

I am amazed how I love my blonde hair now, I have been highlighting my hair for years. I have never been so happy with my color. The stylist Rachel, I feel she is so educated in making my blonde look more believable and creamy looking , I am a beliver that all blondes are not alike and they do requier attention and that is exactly what I recieved from Rachel at About faces Salon and Spa. I have been a fairly loyal customer to both the Canton and Towson locations. I typically found that once I was past the reception area my experience was positive. I put up with it because I adored my stylist. Recently, I had my third incident with a curt and snotty scheduler and I have decided to take my business elsewhere. Take my advice and don't waste your time or money. It's such a disappointment to find good technicians, but I can't tolerate being treated so rudely when I'm dropping $60 or $100 for a service. more

I was refered by a friend to go to About Faces in Timonium to see Jen to get my color fixed. She was very friendly/attentive and knew a lot about hair (mine is fine but wavey). My hair has never looked so fabulous! She blew out my hair with a round brush and created soft waves like all the movie stars have. I love the hair products too. The only thing I had a problem with was the younger girls that work at the front desk. They seem more interested in talking to their coworkers then helping clients, but I will still be going back to see Jen for now on. PLEASE BEWARE! WORSE THAN A WALK IN BUT MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE:\r \r with too many employees at the front, all wearing black, creates a FALSE image of an upscale salon with high calibre stylists. less talent than a Hair Cuttery or Supercut. \r \r they think they are artists and can do what they want. thinks that they know what you want better than you.\r \r they don't listen to what you want or check to see if even on both sides. they cut so fast you don't even have a chance. then uses gadgets to style your hair to hide gross mistakes. I had hair 3 inches short on one side while the other side was inches longer. ultimately went to another salon and had to chop it all off and get a boy cut. my hair used to go to the center of my back.\r \r don't be fooled by the slick set up. more

I have been going to About Faces for years and would never think of going anywhere else! When I moved to baltimore a friend recommended About Faces, and to tell you the truth, i was a little scared that since it was the biggest salon in the area that it would be on the snobbier side, but that was not the case at all. From the moment I walked up to the front desk I was greeted with smiles and great service. My hairstylist was very warm and friendly and I immediately felt like I've know her for years. I haven't gone to anyone else to do my hair in three years I've lived in baltimore and I don't see that happening anytime soon either. I've also gone to about faces to get manicure/pedicure and waxing, and have experienced nothing but the best service. Usually for waxing salons try to get you in and out, but not About Faces, very good waxing, very little redness and soreness, and a staff that truly tries to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Also, About Faces sells all the top of the line hair and face products, like Bumble and Bumble, Kerastase, and Darphin, so you get your hair done and all the best hair/face products at one place. My husband surprised me with a "Grand Escape" spa treatment, and I was so excited when I found out I came online and looked it up, read the services, then read the reviews. After reading the reviews I was worried because there are a few bad reviews. All I can say (I went yesterday) were they at the same place I went?!?!\r I had the BEST DAY, I was treated like ROYALTY!\r My Hostess was Michelle, and she was the quality hostess you would expect at a 5 star hotel. She was so nice, brought me breakfast, checked up on me, brought me drinks, lunch, everything I could ask for!\r She started my aroma bath, then OhSoon did my massage, Olga did my facial, Natalla did my make up, Jannelle washed my hair and gave me a scalp massage, Kristin did my hair, and Maya did my spa manicure and pedicure. \r Through out the day, each person was so nice to me, they sincerely were interested in making this the best experience.
