I have always taken my son to Supercuts primarily because he has a short hair style, that is where I go, and of course it is inexpensive. However he is older now, and his hair had...

I WAS REALLY EXCITED TO CHECK OUT THIS NEW PLACE, CONSIDERING THE PREVIOUS PLACE (ROCCA) BEING SO SUCCESSFUL, HOWEVER, IT WAS A HUGE DISAPOINTMENT. THE CONCEPT IS COOL HAVING THRE...

Open 6 weeks and already highly rated by Zagat 7/8/2006

I believe I was there the same night as ""foodiewino"" and need to correct him or her on a few things. Fish: not only did they have tuna and cod, but salmon and halibut both flown in that morning from Alaska. I had the halibut, by the way, and it was very tasty and my server paired it with a delicious white wine which I wish I could remember because we went through two bottles and loved it. I understand it's Santa Monica, but you don't want fish that was caught off the pier, do you? As for the wine list, my friends and I were a bit put off by it because it seemed rather pretentious for a casual/tapas restaurant. And when I asked by server about the list I was told that they weren't very familiar with the list and hadn't had the opportunity to taste any of them or learn about them, but that this situation was being remedied now that there was a new manager in place who was more familiar with running a restaurant and not just building a wine list that was a bit out of touch. I don't mean to rant, but my friends and I just had such a good time at 3 that I couldn't let someone who OBVIOUSLY has a grudge to bear say things that were in bad form and all together misleading. more

Here today gone in a few months 7/7/2006

Is this tapas? If so say it. No real direction on the menu, and limited at best. I had to go over the menu many times and force myself to find something. Cod and Tuna, the only fish? Boring! This is santa monica, we're next to the ocean! No valet! Next to harvells (great blues bar), so don't dine after 9:30 unless you like hearing bass booming through the walls. Interesting and fun wine list, but servers can hardly explain the glass pours, let alone bottles. Very cold atmosphere with no art. Desserts (that's spelled with two s's) are good, but I don't dine for desserts. Great Beer and Sake list but again, no one knows what is what . At least know your booze before youopen a place. I give it a 3 to 4.....out of 10. more

Best Figs in the World! 6/16/2006

Yes, the menu does take a couple of minutes to decipher, but really it's a small learning curve for great rewards; and besides why rush when you get to sit in the cushy booths and enjoy the romantic soft glow of the place? Fries are fantastic and also the croquettes (careful though--the sauce is SPICY, I didn't use too much of it); great spin on the classic burger (my boyfriend who is the pickiest eater and hates to deviate from the norm actually loves it), and the cod (as was all the fish-- the salmon with the veggie pancakes are so good) was so fresh! But the best is really the warm figs for dessert--to die for! (the poached pears run a VERY close 2nd)... but the figs are seasonal so get there earlier in the evening if you don't want to miss them! Oh and I forgot-- they have Young's Chocolate Stout! You can't find that anywhere! amazing. more

Hidden Gem 6/14/2006

I have been religiously eating at 3 on Fourth for the past year. This place is a hidden foodie secret! The dishes are all amazing...toro tartare, truffle potato puree, scrambled eggs with uni (sea urchin) and black truffles..ummm. I highly recommend trying this place before you can't get a reservation anymore! Can't seem to get enough... Pros: The Entire Menu, Cheese Plates, Half price wine on Mondays (Hello!!) more

THREE ON FOURTH 6/13/2006

WARM, FRIENDLY & EFFICIENT. GREAT TUNA TARTARE & SALMON WITH CAVIAR APPETIZERS. STEAK & FRITES, A CUT ABOVE THE TRADITIONAL BRASSERIE SERVING. HAMBURGER IS JUICY, PLUMP & RARE, A MUST FOR HAMBURGERS LOVERS. TRY THE FIG WITH ICE CREAM FOR DESERT. IT'S A WINNER. A WINE MENU SURE TO PLEASE EVERYONE EVEN THE MORE SOPHISTICATED PALATE AT REASONABLE PRICES. more

An Eclectic Menu for an Eclectic City 6/13/2006

Given that my friends can never agree on what to eat, Three, takes a smart and bold approach to its open menu and wide variety of sake, wine, and beer. One can see much thought was taken to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for dinner or just to hang and drink. \r \r I was never a fan of cod before, yet I am now, especially with the Chimay on draft. The crab cakes are the best Ive had in a long time aswell. more

GREAT NEW RESTAURANT! 6/12/2006

I love this place! Great food, cool ambience, extensive wine and beer list. Best burger in town, hands down! more

Great New Place 6/6/2006

The wine and beer selection is extensive. Never have i seen my favorite wine (a rose from south africa) and beer (choclate stout from longdon) in the same place. I had the steak frite with sweet potatoe fries...sooo good. The brune sauce was amazingly falvourful! Also, we shard a bunch of the toppas and they were equally good. Reminds me of a new fussion. Great JOB!!!! Pros: hot waitresses and celebrities more

I like the variety of choices on the menu. It makes it easy if one friend is in the mood for a cheeseburger and some else wants tuna tartare. Love the decor and look forward to seeing this restaurant fine tune and flourish. more

Great Space - Confusing Menu 6/3/2006

Food is decent. Nothing stands out on the menu. The larger entres should be in bold. Also the restaurant's theme should be explained at the beginning of the menu. The staff comes across as a bit pompous. Kudos to the designer though. more

Talk About Gross 6/1/2006

Don't bother wasting your $$$ -- you'll just leave hungry and mad and have to eat somewhere else, which we did. The mussels from the moules et frites tasted old and fishy ( and they only give you 6) and the fries were stone cold. The salads had no dressing, the greens limp. The menu didn't really make sense -- who wants to eat mac and cheese with sushi? The soft leather in the booth was the only nice thing about the place. Pros: Leather in the booths more
