Review content:
I recently visited Aspen Dental/Stow OH due to having pain in my tooth. I was advised that I needed a root canal & was referred to an endodonist. I was scheduled for a follow up appointment with Aspen Dental for a crown & cleaning. I called Aspen Dental 10 days prior to my appointment to find out my financial responsibility due to my yearly dental benefit would be exhausted after $50 more dollars. I spoke to the office manager & he assured me that I would be called back. Needless to say no called me, the day before my appointment I called & spoke to a woman who could only give me a range $400 -$1300. I again expressed to her that my dental benefit would exhaust after $50 & needed to know a good estimate prior to having the dental work done. She was unable to help me so I arrived at my appointment on the follow day 45 minutes early to discuss my financial portion. The receptionist & the girl working behind her gave me a number of $470. They seemed uncertain so I asked them if I could have a seat & they would contact my insurance company. When called back up to the desk, they stated the charge was $470. I paid the 470.00 & had my services completed. Less than 30 days later I received a bill for an additional $489.. I have repeated called their billing department. The same girl is unhelpful everytime. I also discussed a charge for my son which was on the bill. $98 for flouride which should of been covered by insurance. She had no clue why it wasn't paid. I ended up calling the insurance company and the insurance company shared with me the reason why it was not paid because Aspen Dental billed the same service 6 months prior & flouride is only to be done once a year. It is amazing that someone who works in the dental billing office could not figure that out. In regards to my own billing issues, I have asked on numerous occassions to speak to the office manager or for him to call me. Never a returned call. This is a bill I refuse to pay & this is coming from a person with excellent credit.
