Review content:
Dr. Lang, who built this practice over the course of two decades, retired late in 2007, and her part-time associate of five years, Dr. Amy Kurzrok, has taken over the practice on a full time basis. Dr. Lang's patients had only the highest things to say about her, and patients seem to think just as highly of Dr. Kurzrok. Dr. Kurzrok has a personality perfectly suited to being a doctor. She's personable, genuine, and cares deeply for her patients. She'll go out of her way for any of her patients. While Dr. Lang could not have found a better physician to replace her, a number of problems have plagued the practice since her departure. Dr. Kurzrok retained the entire support staff that had been with Dr. Lang for years. However since Dr. Lang's departure, the support staff has come to routinely neglect the daily business of running a doctor's office. Phones go unanswered. Routine requests for prescription refills take up to a week to be called in, if they ever get called in at all. Messages left for referrals and test results go unanswered. Calling to ask about a message that went unanswered is treated as an imposition on the office staff. While under Dr. Lang the staff was never pleasant, they did get their jobs done. Dr. Lang's tough personality was enough to keep the staff's behavior within normal limits, but since Dr. Lang's departure, it's as if the staff thinks why bother working if we don't have to. As much as I love Dr. Kurzrok, I just can't stay at a practice where I can't get prescription refills, test results, or even make appointments in a timely manner. I'm going to try to stick it out a few more months, but if the quality of service doesn't improve, I'm going to have to look elsewhere for a new primary care doctor.
