Businiess name:  Spud Hollow Horse Farm & Riding Center
Review by:  Renee S.
Review content:
Spud Hollow has kind, well-schooled horses for riders on different levels. Gina Hilliard, owner/instructor, has exceptional teaching abilites; excellent comunication skills, attention to detail, and a gift for instilling confidence in even her most nervous students (That was me). In addition to riding, many different aspects of horse-care and responsibility are covered. Gina also leases and boards horses. I wasn't always aware of the pleasure Gina takes in matching the personalities and abilities of her horses and riders. About a year ago, Gina kept encouraging me to ride this particular horse while I kept evading the issue. I felt she was too advanced for me and I was too nervous. Well, one day I was late for a group ride. When I arrived this horse was the only one left. My jaw dropped, my blood-pressure sky-rocketed, and my heart went into orbit. Gina said, "If you want to ride, you have to ride Pickles." I took a deep breath, clenched my teeth, and got on. Needless to say, I haven't ridden a different horse since. She's perfect for me. I now lease her and when I finally commit to that awesome responsibility of owning a horse, it will be Pix. Gina didn't doubt my ability. She helped me make the most of it. Riding at Spud Hollow gives me a place to destress with a great group of down-to-earth people from youth to senior citizens. A place where we have TREMENDOUS fun.
