I was extremely impressed by A to Z Handyman. I found Alan via Yelp, and i also screened 3 other handyman companies to get assistance with major kitchen repairs. These are the reasons why I chose Alan:
1. Punctual and responsive: He replied to my phone call right away and made arrangements to see my kitchen project the same day. He stayed on schedule and worked with my work schedule. Whenever I had a concern, he was just a phone call away.
2. Professional: Alan understood the scope of the project and what it would require to fix it right away. He is great at communicating and was very transparent in how long it will take to fix it. He has a good eye for detail. When I would overlook that my granite countertops seams weren't lining up, he would spend additional time to make sure it looked level and perfect. I am glad that he is meticulous and proud of his work.
3. Fair: Okay, so I'm REALLY broke. I really didn't have the money to do any home repairs since I just forked over my savings to the closing costs on my home, but I couldn't live without a functioning kitchen. Alan was very considerate of my budget, and we came to a mutual agreement on the cost of the work. His bid was the MOST FAIR out of all the bids, and the quality of work is well worth it. He gave me a really good deal, and his main intention was to build a strong working relationship for future projects. I didn't mind helping Alan lift things here and there since he is a one-man operation. This actually helped me save on costs of hiring a second person, and it taught me about home repairs in the process.
4. Hilarious: This guy has a great sense of humor, and it's really easy to work with him. Although this might not be super-important, it does help in making the project go by faster and it makes the experience more pleasant.
I plan to hire Alan for future projects. One added benefit of working with him is that he believes in building long-term relationships with his clients. Will definitely hire him again!
