I BOUGHT AN AKC REGISTERED DOG FROM PETLAND IN JOLIET, ILLINOIS, FOR $1,400.00, NOT INCLUDING THE ADDITIONAL $1,000 I SPEND ON NEEDLES, HEARTWORM, KENNEL, GROOMING TOOLS AND MUCH MORE. WELL, THE DOG WAS NEVER AKC REGISTERED. DID I GET MY MONEY BACK? HECK NO! IN THE FINE PRINT, IT SAYS THE REGISTRATION PAPERS ARE A COURTESY AND THE RETAILER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS, OMMISIONS OR MISREPRESENTATIONS BY 'OTHERS'. WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE THE INNOCENT BUYER WHO BUYS THE DOG? WELL, IT LEFT THIS BUYER $1,700 POORER. BUYER BEWARE! I WILL NEVER BUY A DOG FROM PETLAND IN JOLIET, ILLINOIS AND IF YOU ARE WISE, YOU WILL KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR POCKET. NEVER BUY AN AKC DOG UNLESS YOU HAVE THE AKC REGISTRATION PAPERS IN YOUR HAND AND CALL AKC TO VALIDATE THE ID NUMBERS. THIS WARNING CAME FROM REPUTABLE BREEDERS AND AKC ITSELF.
