We called to simply have the drain snaked out and have him assess the garbage disposal. Recently we have had a lot of accumulation in the shower drain and need it cleared out every six months. when the technician arrived he was very polite and professional. Then he told us that it would cost almost $400 to snake out the shower drain. I told him that similar jobs were about $150-175 from other providers, plus whatever remaining time for the hour was left over for other services. When I apologized and said that we wasted his time, suddenly the fee came down to $275--still outrageously overpriced for a fifteen minute job--but since he was there and we needed the drain cleared, and he seemed very professional--we reluctantly agreed to pay. I can tell you that in spite of the fact that he did a good job, this was very overpriced. I don't know if they were just trying to rip us off because we live in an expensive zip code, but I won't call them again because they are obviously not competitively priced.
