It's a tossup as to which park our family likes more - McKinley or Land Park. If it is a sunny Spring weekend day in East Sacramento, pay a visit to McKinley Park. The rose garden has an incredible variety of roses and is well cared for by volunteers. A favorite activity here is to jog, walk, or rollerskate around the park. If you like Bungalow or Tudor architecture, pay attention to the variety of homes which surround the park. If you have young children - pay a visit to the Duck Pond. If you bring bread crumbs you can pretend you are the pied piper of ducks. There is a pool and a fine old brick library to hide in during the hot summer months. If you are a book addict - hit the book sale in the Spring. Pros: Rose Garden, Mature Trees, The Architecture Cons: Parking is tough.
