Review content:
I wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Tigard Animal Hospital. I had taken my 1 year old rabbit (Chewie) there to get spayed. I dropped her off early on 6/21/10 and was told to pick her up late that afternoon. They told me that they would call me if there was anything wrong or if they had any questions. Dr. Ken Genova preformed the spay on chewie. I came back at close to 4 pm to pick up her up. I asked if everything had gone ok and if she had been eating and drinking. They said that everything went smoothly and that she had been eating and drinking.\r I took her with me and realized she wasn’t moving much the entire car ride home. I thought that because she had been under anastgia that she was still waiting for that to wear off, and that was why she was not moving around a lot. I took her home and noticed that by 8 pm she was still not moving around. I put her on the floor where she would normally run around and they realized very quickly what was wrong. She tried to move and then dragged her back legs behind her. She had been partially paralyzed.\r I tried to find an emergency number for Tigard Animal Hospital, but they didn’t have any. I called banfeild pet hospital and asked them about the situation and they said that the most likely way that this could have happened was Chewie not being restrained properly when being put under or taken out of anastgia. I waiting until morning and called Tigard Animal Hospital right when they opened. I was told to bring her in and did. They said that they didn’t do anything wrong and that it must have been our fault. They asked questions over and over again trying to find a way to place blame on us. They did an x ray on her for free and found that her back was broken. When we asked what they were going to do about what they did to her they said that it wasn’t their fault and kind of started giggling about how angry we were. WE GOT HER BACK FROM THEM LIKE THIS, SHE WASENT MOVING WHEN WE GOT HER BACK. They said that they would put her down because of her injury. We did not want them ever touching her again, or any other pet of ours. \r We left their office and told them that we would be talking to a lawyer about malpractice, they did this to her and will not take responsibility for their mistakes. We took her to another vet Dr. Mark Burgess at Southwest Animal Hospital and he examined her and said that she could potentially get one of her back legs moving again and that she was still able to move one of them slightly. While she will always be disabled she is not in pain and has a chance at a partial recovery. \r I want people to know what Tigard Animal Hospital did to my rabbit and how they reacted to the situation. Do not go there, I would hate to see this happen to someone else’s beloved pet. Chewie will never be the same. \r Pros: None Cons: Horrible care and complete lack of responsiblity
