My Husband took my 11 Year Old Cat into the Vet cuz, we thought he had a very Bad Case of Pink Eye. (He was diagnosed with Pink Eye from Rock Creek Vets & their Meds weren't working.) Anyways, they saw Grey Grey & came up with a Diagnoses of a inflamed Molar. \r \r They gave him a Inflammatory Antibiotic, Squeezed some Puss from his Nose & sent my Husband & Grey Grey Home, along with a Arm/Leg Breaking Bill, if we wanted to have them Pull the Tooth/Teeth, Have the Teeth Cleaned & take care of the Gingivitis, to where it wouldn't affect his other Teeth. \r \r Fast Forward to when my Husband brought Grey, Grey Home. His Left Side of the Face looked worst, than he went to the Vet. AND...He was severally Dehydrated. My Husband & I took more than an Hour to Cool him down & get him to drink Water by himself. \r \r Fast Forward to the Next Day, when I Called Tigard Vets & told them everything up above & to see what my Husband & I could do to insure Grey, Grey's Health, without paying over $1,000.000 for the Tooth Surgery cuz, we had just Paid our Rent, the IRS (We are Self Employed) & other Household Bills. We were Broke. \r \r The Rep/Manager said, there was nothing they could do. That the procedure consist of putting the Cat totally out, Abstracting the Tooth/Teeth, Lab Work to make sure the Cat would be Okay through the Surgery, the Doctor Bill, Meds, Etc, Etc, Etc.... When I told her, we didn't have that kind of Cash, I asked about if they had a Payment Plan, Which on their Website said they did. And she said, the PLAN, was only good for This or That & we STILL had to come up with $524.00, Plus $50.00 for the Plan & any other Meds/Complications. I tired my Best to Negotiate with the Lady, that we didn't even have that & She went On & On about there was NOTHING she could do. \r \r So, frustrated, I hung up & Cooled Down before I Called again & asked to speak with Dr Lawler myself. Later that Day, she calls my Husband's Cell (I had given our Home Phone) saying that the Rep/Manger was correct & that there was NOTHING but, to Medicate Grey Grey with Inflammatory Antibiotics ( $63.00 a Week, Plus $41.00 per Visit) til we could come up with the Cash to do the Surgery. \r \r Fast Forward 2 more Days. Grey Grey got continually worst to where we had to take him into Dove Lewis Emergency. There wasn't much they could do cuz, Tigard Vets had already Medicated him. But, what they DID do was help Suction the Infection & gave us a List of other possible Vets to get the infected Tooth pulled. \r \r Anyways, in a Nut Shell, I DO understand, they've got to make a Living BUT, with this type Level of Care, I Hope & Pray that our Community gets them Shut Down or give them a Wake Up Call, that this type of Care is NOT okay. more

Disappointed is the best word I can use to describe my last visit – I brought my 3rd animal into the clinic to get her de-worm and spay. When I called for prices, I was advised that there would be a charge of $14.50 should she have fleas. I have 4 cats – all indoors, never outside – I was confident that the flea charge wouldn’t be applicable in my case. \r \r When I arrived to pick her up, I was told she had fleas and they had charged me. I asked the receptionist about it – what it was they found to warrant charging me cause I’ve had her for over 2 months inside with all my other cats and NOT ONE FLEA has been spotted on her or on any of my other cats. The receptionist told me she’d go speak with the vet tech to find out. She returns a few moments later with a flea comb and shows me what is a live flea along with some dander – says she just brushed this off my animal. At this point, I was frustrated because spotting a live flea on an animal that is sharing space with other animals in a vet clinic isn’t indicative of a flea problem – unless the facility has a flea problem. Plus – 100% confident that I didn’t have fleas in my personal animals – when I told this to the receptionist she suggested I treat my other animals and possibly fumigate my house. \r \r I’ve been a pet owner all my life. I’ve had flea problems. We don’t have fleas in our home or on our animals. I bathed the cat as soon as we returned home and amazingly I couldn’t find one flea or any debris on her to indicate she had fleas. To this day – almost a week later, there has been no issue. \r \r I have no idea where the receptionist got the flea she showed me – unfortunately I was so upset that I didn’t demand to see her go and comb the cat myself – but I also wasn’t informed that was what she was going to do. \r While it was $14.50 - and not the end of the world – it’s a less than customer friendly approach to handling. What would have been more appropriate is for the receptionist to take me back with her to show me the combing of my pet and/or to bring a vet tech up front to speak to me. Unfortunately, this will be the last straw for me – I won’t be returning- I’ve spent a lot of money in your facility and I love Dr. Phelps – but with this treatment, I’ve decided I need to find a more forthcoming and honest veterinary clinic to take my service to. \r more

VERY BAD place to take your pets. \r \r Too much UPSELLING -- read the past reviews. I own a several businesses and I teach sales -- this is USED CAR SALES poorly done.......\r \r Unfriendly staff. \r \r Wow -- can't imagine how they are still in business with the staff that pretends to work there.\r \r Unknowledgeable very young vet. After this experience - I would have to question credentials (again - read the past reviews on incompetency). \r \r I was charged for 7 very expensive pills for my dog and given only 5 pills. \r \r The quality control here is sub-standard or nonexistent. When I complained about the wrong amount on the pills - they treated me as if I was wrong and said they felt ""sorry"" for my dog. REALLY?? \r \r When you leave a place of business - you should leave happy and satisfied ----- I left wanting to write a review.......... more

A good vet is hard to find. Tigard animal hospital is a great vet. Their prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is very nice (to both people and animals), and you don't spend hours in the waiting room. Even for small services you can drop your pet off and come back later in the day for no extra charge. Next day appointments for spay/neuter and they always charge the OSNF price. I will continue to take my pets and recommend them. For those who complain about the up selling, what place doesn't do that? The difference here over Companion or Banfield is that they save the guilt trip if you turn down an extra service. Very understanding. more

Went there one time only -- never again -Rip-off 3/31/2011

They may charge smaller fees but they do a hard sell on upgrades and unnecessary products. When I went to pick my dog up, they also charged more than the quote. They told me there was something wrong his blood work, that they had to do additional test, and administer additional fluids, which they charged for. T Hey said his blood work was not right, and I had to put him on special food, which they conveniently set aside for me to join their monthly must have dog food sales plan. None of this was accurate. Eight years later, my dog is healthy, happy, has fine blood work, gets his teeth cleaned yearly (elsewhere), and has never had to go on any special food. Subsequent to this, I had other doctors look at those blood work results, and they all told me the numbers were as they were because the dog had been fasting in prep for the dental cleaning, not because anything was wrong with him. This hospital had the nerve to call me a month after I was there to try to scare me into buying their food. Big rip-off. They prey on people's fears and desire to do everything for their dog's health. Don't fall for it. more

Very Reasonably Priced 1/31/2011

They have a drop-off/pick-up program for surgeries, which is so convenient for people that have to work during the day. All of their services are very reasonably priced, and they are one of three vets on the West side that accept the Oregon Spay/Neuter coupon. I got my little guy neutered for $49.00! more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE!! 12/30/2010

To the Manager of Tigard Animal Hospital,\r \r I am contacting you about a bill that was sent to me 9 months after services. I was told there was an issue with my card be charged.\r \r My dog Ginger had some wounds on her feet. I was told to try soaking her feet in a solution to remove them. When this did not work I was told you would need to Biopsy the wart like bumps. I called in and was given a cost for treatment. Although we were not prepared at the time for such an amount, we agreed (my husband and I) to seek the treatment. I drove from my home in Hillsboro to your facility in Tigard because I always liked the previous experiences with Tigard Animal Hospital. Most clinics are out to take your money over caring for your animals. I thought your facility was different however after this experience I will no longer bring any of my animals and I have reported this incident as well as notified every comment page I could find a listing for your site.\r You see after making the early trip to drop her off before work, I received a call at work telling me it would be more money. Imagine my surprise…you told me one price, wait till you have my animal, make me think it is cancerous and then say you want more money. I love my dog, so I want the biopsy done. We make an arrangement to pay the agreed upon price and a later payment for the balance. I am abhorred that your customer service is to NOT honor your own mistake but take advantage of your customers love for their animal.\r The worst part, is when my husband picked Ginger up from your facility she was bleeding all over your floor. Apparently the additional cost does NOT include proper bandage on an open wound. There was nothing placed on her paws. Her bleeding paws were bare!! In a place where other sick animals walk in and out, my dog is bleeding all over. When your staff came out to clean up she commented “wow this floor is filthy”….of course not realizing clients overheard her!! \r Imagine my surprise after all this, when, about four months after the biopsy the same ‘warts’ appeared. I researched and found that some benefited from puppy immune booster supplements. Sure enough, the warts disappeared and have not come back.\r You will get sent your outstanding bill of $54.31 on January 13th. My prayers are that others are not duped by you and that you gain some compassion when dealing with customers who love their animals. I understand mistakes are made, but I also know how ill will it is to lose customers over such a small amount!! Also, clean your floors!!\r \r Connie more
