I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at Western Career College. I am 36 years old and a single mother with very little help. I am a former retail business owner of 10+ years. When the economy crashed in 2007/08, I was forced to close my businesses and find another path in life. I had always been financially secure and never thought I would have to make such a drastic career change. It was my 10 year old daughter that told me that I should try to do what I'd always dreamed of when I was a little girl and that was to take care of animals. I didn't think it was possible at my age to basically start all over in life. \r \r The "You can do it!" slogan hit home one day and I made the call just to inquire. Alya, the representative that helped me that day was amazing. She was caring and sympathetic to my situation. She gave me scenarios in which I could chart out my new career.
