I was charged $618 for parts and labor, finding out later that Denny's Muffler would do same work for $440 (I requested exact estimate on all work done). I understand a small business may charge a little more, but the difference in price in this case was ridiculous. I since have talked with others who were similarly grossly overcharged for services performed. \r \r I also was told by the owner, that I could bring in the car for a rear tail-light repair (when the part came in) and 'we'll work it in, will only take 15 minutes or so'. When I brought the car in on a Friday at 4:15pm (shop closes at 5:30pm), I was told by the daughter, 'oh, no, we can't do it now, we're trying to close up for the weekend, you needed to call and schedule a time'. \r \r I always try to support local small businesses where I can, but I don't appreciate being taken advantage of by such a price range extreme. I understand there are business expenses (trying to pay more than minimum wage, shop tools, etc), but I also have a business to run and maintain -- it's called MY HOME BUDGET -- and I do not feel I need to overpay at such a rate for any future work. \r \r I would suggest scaling down the extensive website, etc, and making your pricing more realistic and competitive, if you would like repeat business. You might have also had repeat business from me if you'd made any attempt to offer even a small partial refund or credit, but since all I received was a list of excuses about how expensive it is to run a business, I have the impression that repeat business isn't really that important.
