Gotta say, I am rarely so angry that I'll post a negative commentary on a retailer, but Direct Appliance in Modesto, CA did the trick today. I purchased about $900 worth of appliances for a property that I plan to put on the market in the next couple of weeks. I didn't have my cargo trailer with me yesterday, so I went back today to pick the items up. The items were all unboxed floor models and I asked the staff to use the tie downs to keep the appliances from moving around. You'd think I asked them to burn down the store. First they refused, then after about 20 minutes of grief they wanted me to sign a hold harmless statement for them and the attitude of staff was really unbelieveable. They do understand the concept of business insurance -- right? They do understand the concept of customer service -- right? Not a chance.
