Flew up from Houston on Thursday, 12 September to look at my next car purchase, a 1978 Trans Am. I was pleased to learn that ADM has a 'sweetheart' deal with the Des Moines Airport Holiday Inn Express. Tom picked me up at 9:00 AM sharp the next morning and took me to the dealership. The car was parked in the front lot, but first I was encouraged to go through the shop and the rest of the facility. I was able to talk to the mechanics and the other people working there about the car (none of that BS about their insurance not allowing customers in the shop). After about an hour, we finally went out to look at the car. I had a hard time believing the car could look as good as the photos on the web-site, but I was wrong. It was immaculate, ran and sounded like a ""dream"". After the test drive, Tom and I each took a sheet of paper and spent almost another hour going over the car from bumper to bumper and putting together a list of very minor issues that needed to be addressed. Next, we went back in to negotiate the final selling price; the car wasn't cheap. but I feel like I got a good deal, given the relative rarity and its condition. Because I had plans to be out of town the first week of October, we settled on a ship date of 7 October to allow them a little over two weeks to get the parts and address the punch-list items. The car arrived in fine order on Wednesday, 9 October and has a new home in the garage of a very satisfied customer! Thanks to ADM for a wonderful experience and a great day of red carpet treatment and amazing cars...
