Our 4 yr old had a cavity between his front teeth...we were given the option between a $600 crown or extracting his teeth. We debated between the crown and extraction...Dr Howell told us there were no risks or downsides to extracting his teeth. We decided to have his teeth extracted since he'd be losing them in the next year or two anyway and Dr Howell agreed with our decision. Two days later our son developed a severe infection in his gums. Dr Howell asked us to come in three seperate times to check up on our son...each visit lasted 15 min or less. Not once were we told we'd be billed for those visits; we assumed it was part of the cost of extraction. A couple weeks later we were billed $242...each 15 min checkup cost over $80. Our son now has damage to his gums due to the infection. Dr Howell took no accountability or responsibility for the situation. He was also un-apologetic. I asked him to reconsider the $242 bill given the circumstances. He ignored my request and simply sent us a late notice bill.
