Review content:
I would caution people to be aware of what you are getting for your money. Neil Kelly takes a design fee and with this fee they create the design/plans and price the labor and materials for your work. The final price is supposed to be within your budget range and the range is stated on the design contract. This doesn't always happen, I know from personal experience. My final quoted price ended up being a lot more than my budget amount, and no amount of re-pricing could bring it in line. They kept cutting out things I wanted done to try and get the price down until the scope of the work was about half of what I initially wanted. Needless to say, no remodel for me, but I was out thousands of dollars for the design. I wish I would have declined to pay the fee up front or made sure it was refundable if they did not deliver within my budget. They are explicit this fee is non-refundable, so my bad in assuming they could deliver within my financial constraints. However, it seems to me they should have had the expertise to know that my budget was not enough to do the job.
