I checked out a lot of apartments in CU. Weiner does have some sketchy ones, but definitely not as bad as others (AKA CPM.) The apartments I have rented over the course of 5 years and 3 apartments have always been clean with new paint and all repairs done. With maintenance issues, they always answer the phone and ALWAYS respond within 24 hours, usually within the same day. The office staff are very friendly and even remember who I am by name. Be aware, all of downtown Urbana has cockroaches, no matter where you are and who you rent from. And mice, that's all up to you. I can tell you in a duplex I lived in for 3 years, our neighbor had mice because he left food out. My husband and I never saw a sign of them because we keep things clean. The reviewers here obviously felt the need to vent their frustrations, but I can tell you, Weiner is a fantastic landlord to whom I just keep returning.
