When i lived at 1029 Houston, I woke up one night to a crash. A 2 x 4 foot of my kitchen ceiling caved in. The roof was leaking water into it. The walls that were white when I moved in, were black with mold a month later. They began to crack and buckle. The living room door leaked in gallons of water every time it rained. The carpet began to mildew and rot. The fresh paint cover up wasn't lasting.For two months I asked them to come and repair the roof and was just told the owners didn't have the money for repairs. Finally Roger, the owner of Alliance, came to my property and saw the damage. He told me he could not lower rent, and the roof would not be repaired, but he would allow me to break my lease and move out.The next month I moved to Mass. I moved out on the 3rd of the month, and left my deposit of one months rent to pay for those 3 days I lived there, $400. He sent me a bill for $600. What he claimed I owed after deducting that $400.
