I've been coming here for a few years now (previously called Hama, same owners just a name change). It is by far my favorite sushi place in the New Haven area. If you are looking for a loud, trendy, overpriced sushi restaurant this is not the place for you (there are plenty of those downtown). However if you are looking for delicious high-quality sushi, good service, and reasonable prices then look no further. The sushi set combos are an excellent value. For $15 you get your choice of a designer roll and 7 pieces of nigiri or sashimi (your choice). Or for just $3 more, you can get a designer roll and 10 pieces and the combo comes with miso soup or a salad. The sake is warm and no one rushes you to turn over the table. There is free parking in the back and there is also a bank next door where you can park after hours.
