Hamden is not much of a restaurant town but it has got the best sushi restaurant in the state there. The restaurant used to be called Hama (but since the name was already registered to another restaurant they had to chang it) but it has been renamed Sono Bana. The restaurant is headed by Mutosan who is one of the best traditional style chefs in Connecticut (I personnally feel he is the best). Mutosan has won the best of in the New Haven Advocate twelve times. His restaurant has won best Japanese restaurant in Connecticut Magazine six times. Sono Bana is highly praised by Zagats as well as the New Haven register and other publications.
