How do you pick up a good contractor for re-doing your roof? May be someone can recommend one, may be you have to take a chance and, in all cases, you will only find out for sure when it's all done... In our case, it all went well: the contractor showed up when he said he would, the price was correct (may be, we should have negociated a bit..), the job was done professionnally and in time, etc, etc.. So what was the big deal? As they say, the devil hides in the details and that is where you win or lose a customer... When the unexpected difficulties showed up, Don understood the problems and proposed solutions without adding to the costs. When we needed to split the job to allow another contractor to complete repair work, he was flexible. When he could not make it because materials/employees were not available, he told us and negotiated a new date. In short, we were impressed with his determination to finish the job without cutting corners and in dealing with all these other little things that you can't put in a contract. 9.5 out of 10, as nobody is perfect !!
