Pure Cleaners is either just simply incompetent, or they are insanely greedy and stupid to overextend themselves by offering too many Groupons. Either way, I will never trust them with my clothing again, and I strongly suggest that you don't, either. I had a Groupon for $50 worth of dry cleaning here. It sounded like an awesome place. Free pickup and delivery? Next day service available? Amazing! Monday evening: Fill out convenient online form and request a Tuesday pickup with next day drop-off. Receive an email confirming my order and telling me someone would be in contact with me to to confirm. Tuesday morning: Leave my clearly labeled clothing with my doorman. Tuesday afternoon: Wonder why no one has contacted me to ""confirm"" pickup. Call Pure Cleaners. At first they have no idea who I am and have never heard of my order, and then say ""oh yeah, we've been busy... we'll pick it up today. And we'll have it to you Friday."" I am disappointed and a little bit wary because this seems sketchy, but I agree. Friday evening: Go to pick up my dry cleaning from the front desk. It's not there. I have a sinking feeling. Pure Cleaners is closed. I want my clothes back. Saturday morning: Call Pure Cleaners. Again, they have no idea who I am at first. Can I describe my clothing, they ask. Hmmm, weird, my name is ""not in the system"". Spell out my name three times. Cite online confirmation. He has to call me back, he says. Thirty minutes later, I am called back with what seems like five different stories. My head is spinning. I am upset and worried I will never see my clothing again. After a lot of awkward silences, the man finally settles on the story that someone came Thursday to pick up my clothes and there wasn't a bag there. Or Tuesday. Oh right, Tuesday. Since this has been so sketchy already, not to mention I live in a doorman building and have never had such a problem, I am not inclined to believe him. But I ask why, if that was the case, no one called me to let me know. No explanation. ""I apologize, we should have called you"" he says. ""I just want my clothes!"" I say. ""Listen, miss, we pick up from all over Manhattan. It is really inconvenient for us, but we pick up."" ""IF IT'S SO INCONVENIENT TO PICK UP DRY CLEANING, THEN WHY THE F**K DO YOU RUN A BUSINESS ADVERTISING THAT SERVICE?!?!?"" I call my front desk. No one ever came for the clothing. It is still in a laundry bag in the concierge closet. Untouched. At this point, thank god. I call back Pure Cleaners. They again insist that they did come for the clothing. Thursday or Tuesday or something like that. Uh huh, sure. They want to ""make this up to me"". I inform them that based on my experience over the past week, that is not a risk I am willing to take.
