Review content:
My friend and I both purchased a $50 gift certificate from Just Pay Half?? Deal through a local news station for Aveda Fountain of Youth Spa. We first scheduled our spa appointments at the Pittsburgh location, a few weeks in advance. We both wanted services that include a massage, but this location only had 1 massage therapist, so my friend decided to get a facial instead. The morning of the appointment, they called to cancel because my therapist had to go to the hospital. Understandable, so we rescheduled for another few weeks out, but this time for the Mars location. I was scheduled for a body wrap, my friend for a Facial. The day of the appointment, I entered in the Address that I got off of the gift certificate into my GPS. We were to arrive 15 minutes early, except it took me to an incorrect location. When I then called the phone number on the certificate to get directions, I received a voicemail for a man who clearly wasn?t with the Fountain of Youth Spa. I decided to then call the Pittsburgh location, they were able to direct me relatively close the area the spa was located. Still unable to find it, we decide to park and walk until we found it. We found it about a block away, an area we already drove past, but no wonder we couldn?t see it, the sign was lying on the ground, out of view. At this point we are 10 minutes late for our appointments and annoyed we had so much difficulty finding the store. We walk into the spa and the place looks like a total mess. Carpet ripped up, paint stripped off the walls and ceilings, just everything you wouldn?t expect to see from a salon/spa, a place you are going to relax. The man at the counter apologized as he explained to us they had just moved 72 hours prior. I mentioned how they were difficult to find, and he told me they didn?t have time to call everybody and the address was changed on the website. (I can understand not getting time to call everyone, but how about calling the people with appointments?) The therapists then take us back to our room where the services will take place, well it turns out my friend and I are sharing a room, which they failed to mention. We obviously were expecting our own individual rooms. They tell us they?ll give us a minute to get ready and then come back in, closing the door behind them, which had no doorknob, only a fabric stuffed in the hole so you couldn?t see in. My male therapist proceeded to give me a massage for 45 minutes, NOT the service that I had requested. Although the massage was nice, it was difficult to completely relax while the other technician was talking to my friend about her facial. When I came out to pay, the man at the desk tried charging me for for a 60 min. massage. When we left I was able to contact the owner. She offered us free full service the following week, I told her thank you but we were in no way interested in coming back,we asked for discounted refund instead. She refused. NEVER going back.
