Review content:
We passed Amici?s and decided to give them a try. I wouldn?t say that it is fine dining, but a little bit better then casual. However, they do have a room for banquets. \r
We tried the fried Calamari appetizer which had a good taste and was not all rubbery. I don?t like tomatoes so I am not a big fan of tomato sauces, but I really liked the red sauce that came with the Calamari. \r
My husband had the Capellini Di Mare. He absolutely loved it. He was too stuffed to eat the whole thing, but he didn?t want to ruin it by bringing home left overs and reheating it in the microwave so he went ahead and ate the whole thing. I had the Al Forno which was cooked perfectly. However, it was too much for me to finish. I received the broccoli soup as a side item. I could tell that it was made there and not from a package or can. As another side I received the zucchini with their red sauce. It doesn?t sound very good and again even though I don?t care for tomato sauces this was excellent. Since I couldn?t finish the steak I took it with me and asked for some of their red sauce to eat with it. The steak was cooked rare enough that when I re-cook it with the red sauce it will still be great with the blue cheese they add on it and I don?t even like left overs.\r
They obviously take pride in their dishes and make everything from scratch. It was also better then any chain I have ever been to. I wouldn?t say this is a family restaurant, but a nice place for adults to get together and have a great meal. This is a nice restaurant, but not really the type of place you would go to if you are looking for a very upscale place that does extra request like bringing you flowers. They also don?t have valet parking. However, if you are looking for a nicer place with great food and attentive service then this is the place for you. Even though it is pricier then a lot of places at about $20- $25 an entree I would still pay the extra money to eat here again. \r
\r
Pros: Great food, attentive service, not a place for kids.
Cons: The entrance was at the back door; not the fanciest place, but nice.
