Review content:
I took a friend to the Basque Hotel for lunch this past Saturday. This was their first basque experience. We arrived early and only a few people were in the bar. After we got seated it looked as if all the usual suspects came in for lunch. We chose the lamb chops and pork chops for our main dish and ordered a half bottle of Burgundy. They brought out the bread and soup to start with. The soup was vegetables in broth. Iceberg Lettuce Salad and Potato Salad with shrimp followed. Next came a beef and mushroom dish, a garbanzo beans in a tomato sauce dish and our meat choice for the meal with garlic on top. All serving portions were on the larger side. The pork chops and lamb chops were on the thinner side and although I usually like my lamb medium rare, the overall quality of the meal for the price made me overlook this. Lastly, they brought us a scoop of ice scream for dessert. For the price ($13 each) you can't beat the amount of food.
