Review content:
Many years ago, International Camera in Chicago was one of the best repair facilities in the country. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I had heard that they went down hill from customers and also from ex-technicians that worked for them but I didn't take that seriously. However, I learned the hard way that what I was told was true. \r

I am a semi-professional photographer who still shoots film primarily because I am a large format photographer who rarely shoots in small formats. But I took my Canon F1 New in to get a problem fixed and also to have its hi-powered NiCd pack batteries replaced. I suggested what the first problem might be and the technician laughed and treated me with a patronizing and condescending manner as if I had no idea what I was talking about. Before I was an engineer, I was a service technician on literally hundreds of types of commercial equipment and I have worked on virtually every type of system imaginable and I do know what I am talking about. I wish he had listened to me because, when I picked up the camera, the problem hadn't been fixed. But the battery pack was another problem. He obviously installed the wrong batteries (probably the ones for the lower-powered battery pack FN) because it never powered the camera properly and the charger never shut off when charging. So, not only did the technician NOT fix either problem, but he treated me with arrogance and rudeness. Needless to say, I will not be going back to International Camera in the future.
