Review content:
I made my reservations 2 weeks in advance. It was a special day. The reservation was confirmed on the day of the reservation. We were seated in the back corner, when most tables were empty. My wife, was the only woman in the room not offered a hanger for her purse,(do it for all or not at all.) It was like a country club and we were the only non-members. The chef went to every table in the restaurant except ours, (the table next to ours made it clear to all they were on the board of regents at SMU and had recently been at a White House dinner). All others to the back of the room even though we ordered the chef's tasting menu with wine, because it was so highly recommended by our friends. We have been warmly welcomed by such stellar chefs and hosts as Daniel Boulud (love his pistachio tart), Hubert Keller in San Fransisco, and especially Joel Robuchon, but at this ""club"" even though we spent over $400 for 2 we were treated like step-childeren, because we were there for the first time. Like I mentioned the food was stellar, especially the Rouget Barbet. However, you should never so blatantly treat non-regulars, so differenty from the rest of the room!!!! It will ruin the dining experience.
