Review content:
Ryland Homes is just plain awful to work with. I swear this happened. We stopped by to look at a home and walked away with a flier advertising a price on a new construction home that was nearing completion. When we went into with our agent to put in an offer a week and a half later, they had raised the price more than 30,000. We put in an offer based on the price we'd originally been given. The counter from Ryland was for more than their original offer, and they said it was a 'discount' of 30,000. What a joke. We upped our offer by 15,000 in an attempt to engage them in a legitimate negotiation. They sat on the offer for a week and after having our agent contact them at least four times during that time (each time getting a promise that they were working on it), they replied back that the price they gave us was their best offer. My advice? Stay away unless you want to overpay.
