Being a patient of this practice for several years, I thought nothing of referring my fiance to their practice to become established with a PCP. He and I both work in healthcare and see patients everyday. We know how the system works. When we had a staffing issue at the hospital and had to cover late patients we called to (not cancel- but RESCHEDULE) and were told he would not be able to be seen in that practice until he paid a $50.00 no show fee. NO EXCEPTIONS. After having a war of words with the secretary, she put the doctor on the phone who announced herself as the OWNER of the practice (seriously? c'mon - unnecessary). I was spoken to as a 12 year old and told that it didn't matter if we too had patient's to see there were no appointments scheduled arter 3:30pm and if we weren't keeping the appointment, we would be billed $50.00 for their time! He went to the appointment after rearranging 12 patients of his own so we didn't get billed. (what about our time??) Now everytime I go there, I have waited between 1 and 2 hours to be seen even when I arrive early for my appointment. I expect a wait - I'm in healthcare afterall, and I never say anything because I know how it can be. But after this episode my fiance AND myself will be finding another doctor. It's Ridiculous! If we treated our patients like that, we wouldn't have any patients to see. Pros: Pleasant MD's Cons: Let me count the ways.
