Review content:
We worked with Steve to get a mortgage with Capital First for our first home. He took us through the process and explained everything very well. Capital First was definitely the lowest rate we found in the area, and it has stayed that way whenever I've looked around again. The closing costs are a bit higher than other places (like Third Fed), but if you plan to stay in the home for more than a few years, the lower rate came out ahead leaps and bounds even after Third Fed's 'rate match.' In our experience Steve and Jeremy were very honest and straightforward about costs, explaining which items were 'under their control' and which could vary on the Good Faith estimate. We've had our mortgage now for 8 months and all has gone smoothly from the beginning. If I were to do it all again, I'd 'shop around' for the best rates and closing costs every time, but I would be very surprised if Capital First didn't come out best again! Pros: Low interest rates, good communication Cons: Slightly higher closing costs
