Review content:
My fiance and I purchased an engagement ring from Jeweler on the Square and intended to buy the matching wedding band, which we placed on hold. Now, from the beginning we experienced difficulty getting Gerald's associates to order the new mounting for our stone without several(3)reminders over a month and a half, though it eventually got done. We love the engagement ring and were happy enough to put any mild annoyance aside. The place was disorganized, often closed at hours, ect but no really big deal. We placed the matching wedding band on hold, intending to make two separate payments. We were assured that this was no problem and under no circumstances would the ring be sold. On Christmas eve I called to make sure the ring was on hold, in my name and informed the, frankly scatter-brained, yet sweet associate I would be in the day after Xmas to make a payment. I was again assured my ring was on hold in my name. I did go by on the 26th around 3pm to pay, only to find the shop closed. No answer on the phone. Ok, no big deal...day after a holiday. Next day, 4pm closed. Well, on the morning of the 31st my fiance' received a call from the same associate with whom I spoke informing her that her ring had just been sold. After a tearful call from my fiance' I immediately called and spoke to the associate, who claimed no recollection of our previous conversation(a week prior.) After reminding her of several points we had spoken about, she did recall and, to give her credit, was gracious enough to let me voice my EXTREME displeasure. We're Marietta born and bred people from generations of Mariettans and I just hate that this experience marred my view of a corner of the Square on which I grew up. These folks were nice. They mean well. They should, under no circumstances be trusted with anything important or meaningful to anyone. This is the example of how not to operate a small, local business. I advise anyone who sees this to STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!
