We lived here for 5 years and just recently moved due to job changes and needing a cheaper place to live. A month ago, I might have still recommended this place, but now, absolutely not. Long Term Renters and anyone who wants to see their deposit again, be warned. I wish we had been. 1. We received three rent increases in our five years of living here. My previous apartment was 5 years with no increases and my husband?s apartment (before we were married) was 8 years with no increases. There is clearly no desire on the part of the management to encourage long term, good, quiet, clean tenants who pay their rent on time. This is very odd considering that we saw at least one moving van a week nearly every week we lived at the Heron Club. 2. Upon moving, I spent numerous hours cleaning the apartment. It wasn?t perfect, but it was clean. We just received our deposit check back and nearly our entire $250 deposit was kept for ""14 hours of cleaning"". I don?t know how slow they went or how detailed they got, but there is no way there was 14 hours of work to do on that apartment. So if you move into the Heron Club, consider your deposit a cleaning fee unless you plan to clean the entire place with a toothbrush before you leave. After contacting the owner of the property, the operations manager from Western Heritage in Tigard sent me a letter basically calling me a liar. He didn't respond to any of my concerns about the property or our deposit - just that he didn't believe me and to go away. Perhaps others who read this review will see me as a bitter former tenant, but I hope I am able to warn at least one person off of living at the Heron Club. I wish so much someone had warned us. It seemed like such a decent place to live; a nice safe neighborhood in which to raise our young daughter, and had I not been forced into a large pay cut at work, we would still be living there, facing another rent increase in the fall. The deposit - correction - the cleaning fee was unacceptable. There is simply no way there was 14 hours of work to do on that place after we left. Be warned. Cleaning fee - not deposit and rent increases if you stay more than one year - expect them annually. Pros: Safe neighborhood; clean grounds Cons: Dishonest rental agreement; frequent rent increases
