I've been going to Dorothy for about 3 months now because I found out I was gluten intolerant and I had no idea how to change my diet. She has been beyond helpful. The first couple appointments she went through everything I should stay away from and what foods have gluten ""hidden"" in them. Now that I've got the gluten intolerance under control I've been focused on eating small meals regularly, exercising regularly, and taking the vitamins Dorothy recommends. She gives you a booklet to write down everything you eat and drink, the vitamins you take, and how much exercise you do. Even though it is a pain, it is so helpful to write everything down.
What I've really gotten from seeing Dorothy is a new perspective on food and exercise. Before I found out I was gluten intolerant I ate whatever I wanted and didn't bother exercising. I wasn't gaining weight, but I was ""skinny fat."" Now that I know how food affects my body, which is what Dorothy taught me, I'm much better at choosing healthy meals and snacks that won't upset my stomach or spike my blood sugar. Also, I've been going to the gym regularly to lower my body fat percentage.
I can honestly say that I couldn't have made this change without Dorothy's help. She gave me the motivation, guidance, and the tools to live a healthier life.
