Review content:
I am a cheeseburger fanatic. I probably average half a dozen or more cheeseburgers a week. I eat them most often at home, but sometimes I go out for a treat. One day while looking at burger joint reviews online, I came across a comment by a woman that caught my eye (the comment, not the woman). She said something like, ""I wanted a salad, but didn't dare go to Cornucopia because if I did, I would get a cheeseburger."" That's all it took. I went to Cornucopia that day for lunch. Holy cow (so to speak)! Their cheeseburger just about knocked my socks off. I ordered one with bacon and blue cheese (my favorite). The monster was so big, I had to eat most of it with a knife and fork, first because I couldn't get my big mouth around it, then because it fell apart. It was the sloppiest, messiest, juiciest, get all over you, best tasting cheeseburger I'd ever eaten certainly in Eugene, and possibly anywhere. That's the good news. The bad news is that it was twelve bucks. It came with really excellent fries and a good beer. They have a fantastic selection of beers. I went to the Cornucopia at 295 West 17th Street instead of the one near Fifth Street Market. Inside and out it looks like a throwback to the 60s hippie days. I loved it, and felt very comfortable even though I'm a kinda old dude. Service was fast and friendly, and my food came very quickly. Although old, it was clean and well scrubbed inside. There is outside seating in the front and back. Only street parking. Important to me is the fact that they buy their beef from Knee-Deep Cattle Co. out in Coburg. I buy local whenever possible. I will certainly go again, and again, and again...when I have an extra twelve bucks.
