This doctor should have her license taken away. I went in for a contact lens exam which usually costs me my $25.00 copay & i walk out with a trial pair of contacts & my prescription. Not with this money hungry doctor. Not only was i charged for services that my insurance would not cover, but they did not inform me that i would be charged extra for these services prior to performing them on me. They wouldn't give me a prescription on my first visit because she said something was wrong with my eyes. I had to put drops in for two weeks & come back before she could write me a prescription. I went back thinking i was just going for a follow up visit & get my prescription. Well there i go assuming again. I go back, they give me a trial pair of contacts & the doctor says try these for a week, come back & if you like them i'll write you a prescription. I go to the check out & they inform me that my bill for today's visit is going to be $173.00! I paid $83.00 for the first visit, which they told me consisted of my contact exam and other the other procedures not covered by ins. I was told $138.00 was for the doctor's time to change my prescription! I didn't even know she was changing it nor did i ask or authorize her to do so. I still do not know what the other $35.00 from the second bill is for. I'm fighting the charges and i'm not going back. They told me they did find a $40.00 error, on their part, from my first visit & will be issuing a credit. Had i not called and questioned all of these charges they would have never ""caught their error"" of over charging me for the first visit. I just want to warn people about how she is running her business. I have insurance to cover my eye exams-$25.00 for my exam. I went to this doctor for the convenience of location yet I could have gone elsewhere, & without having insurance, paid less & i would have a prescription for my contacts. Instead i went for convenience & now i'm out $246.00 & still have no prescription for my contacts.
