Review content:
My husband and I were recently at the spa. I can tell you with certainty we won't be back. Our visit to the spa was most disappointing. I have been to the Camelback, the Couer d'Alene, Amelia Island Plantation, and The Woodmark to name a few. In all my visits to spas across the USA I have never had the displeasure of being spoken to in a derogatory tone while being hurried out of my private suite. Apparently some folks were going to be in the suite soon after us (though we weren't made aware of this until after the fact) so even though our suite came with a shower (which we thought we'd use to rid ourselves of all the massage oil, prior to putting our robes back on) and we were told to relax and take our time, they obviously didn't mean it. In fact, we had the cleaning lady pushing her way into the room as we were getting dressed. Then my masseuse had the audacity to remind me that there were showers in the locker room and that we should've used those instead. Unbelievable. How Lake Austin Spa has earned its reputation is beyond me. My husband and I were looking for peace and relaxation; instead we received unkindness and disrespect. Obviously I made a mistake in selecting Lake Austin Spa. On a much smaller note, I find it quite odd that the locker rooms are so far from the treatment rooms (you have to walk near the front desk to get to the stairs to get up to the massage area), that the showers are small and few in the locker rooms, and that the plumbing (toilets flushing) can be heard quite well while having a massage. This spa is certainly no place for relaxation. The one positive experience at the spa was actually the work of the salon. Kudos to my hairstylist. Pros: Salon Cons: The Spa (Service and Atmosphere)
