On July 21, 2011, my family and another family had the misfortune of staying at the Post Inn. We had spent a full day at the lake and were all looking forward to a relaxing hotel stay. The family we vacationed with was given a room with a broken air conditioner. After several unanswered calls to the front desk, we walked down to see about getting it fixed and the woman at the desk was on the phone and told us to try it again. After trying it again, still not working, we tried calling down again, and again, she ignored the phone. Finally, a manager came to look at the AC and moved my friends to another room. This one came with a working air conditioner and roaches. We complained twice to the desk clerk and all she said was the sprayers must have missed that room! The pool was extremely small, but the kids were making the best of it because they were looking forward to swimming, but the youngest got a little water-logged and threw up in the pool. When my nephew informed the desk clerk, she told him to jump the fence to the maintenence room and get a skimmer and clean the pool! After a shower, we realized the blow dryer did not work. We called down for a working one, but never got it. We booked a suite and was informed it came with a seperate bedroom, but the door was glass, and there was no door knob! The breakfast was passable, but the kitchen staff was far from friendly when asked to refill the orange juice. The hotel was fairly new, and looked nice. That is about the best thing I can say for the experience. Back at the marina at the lake, we complained about the hotel and the people there told us they would have warned us not to stay there if they had known where we were booked. Next time we go to the lake, we will drive on to Embassy Suites in Lubbock, or bring a tent, either way will be a better stay than Best Western Post Inn!!
